Default I've seen this before.... (MPEG2, single layer discs)

There is much to do over Sony's "supbpar" BR launch titles. Speculation over why it's SL mpeg2 and when DL mpeg2 fixed bit or VC-1/mpeg4 will be brought on tap.

I see alot of similar things between the soft launch of BR and that of the first and second Playstation game consoles.

Remeber the crap launch titles for those two systems? hardley a reason to run out and buy the systems...right? as big of a sony fan as I am, i waited nearly a year before diving into ps2, as I saw Dreamcast as superior still.
Well, it didn't take long for Sony to start cranking out titles and boy did they ever deliver. This IMO will be very similar. Sure these titles where rushed to launch. They got caught with their pants down with Toshiba Launching HDDVD and needed a quick answer so they threw some stuff out there as a distraction.

I think we'll see the real potential of Blu Ray come october, Sony isn't holding back their player & movies for no reason.

what do you guys think?
