Same here. It was only when I scrolled back up the e-mail that I noticed.

Looks like there's going to be at least four newly sold out titles by the weekend. Procrastinators be warned.

I am happy but surprised to see High Time join the low quantity list. It's a really fun movie that I enjoy immensely.

1) The title can be misleading for a 1960s film. No bongs to be found. This is the early 1960s, folks. I'm sure a few beatniks were sorely disappointed.

2) Bing Crosby is just great in this, as the fish out of water older successful dude finally going to college after 30 years.

3) Lots of great 1960s cheeziness and fun. Fans of the beach blanket movies will enjoy this.

4) Tuesday Weld

5) Makes a great double feature with Back to School, the 1980s films starring Rodney Dangerfield that must have been inspired by High Time.

I'm happy to hear that since I picked up a copy with my last order. I was on the fence for a long time.

I forgot to add a #6 to my post above

6) And for Texans of a certain age, High Time was an unforgettable part of childhood in one very important way. The title song by Henry Mancini was adopted years later as the theme song to the wonderful Mr. Peppermint children's television show that was broadcast in the early mornings out of Dallas-Fort Worth. Every morning my five through seven year old self would eat breakfast while watching Mr. Peppermint interact with a variety of puppets between showings of Three Stooges shorts and Felix the Cat cartoons on his program, which was later retitled as Peppermint Place (and the version I saw in the early 1970s). I will always be thankful to Mr. Peppermint for making me a Stooges fan for life.

[Show spoiler]

More trivia: Mr. Peppermint was played by local actor Jerry Haynes for over thirty years, making his character and his show one of the longest running locally produced children's programs in television history. Jerry Haynes passed away in 2011. His son also became a local legend, this time on the Austin music scene. Gibson "Gibby" Haynes is the lead singer for the psychedelic punk band Butthole Surfers, a group I discovered in college at UT and enjoy to this day. Their album Electriclarryland changed my musical horizons forever, and gave them some national success with the #1 hit single Pepper.

From High Time to the Butthole Surfers....top that for a musical connection bookending important moments in a life.

Woman Obsessed
Cover Girl
Pony Soldier

MORE LOW QUANTITY UPDATES FROM SAE

Screen Archives has just sent out a low quantity update email (actually, the first one I have seen from them in awhile). I will update the first post with these new numbers.

CRIMES AND MISDEMEANORS - fewer than 10 copies remaining (note: Possibly sold out - waiting on confirmation)
SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE - fewer than 20 copies remaining
JUDGMENT AT NUREMBERG - fewer than 20 copies remaining
FIRST MEN IN THE MOON - fewer than 20 copies remaining (out of 5,000)
THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO/THUNDERBIRD 6 - fewer than 150 copies remaining
HIGH TIME - fewer than 150 copies remaining
THE SONG OF BERNADETTE - fewer than 200 copies remaining
IN LIKE FLINT - fewer than 200 copies remaining
THE BLUE LAGOON - fewer than 220 copies remaining
MAJOR DUNDEE - fewer than 300 copies remaining
A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS - fewer than 300 copies remaining
DEMETRIUS AND THE GLADIATORS - fewer than 450 copies remaining
THE MECHANIC - fewer than 350 copies remaining
KHARTOUM - fewer than 300 copies remaining

NOTE: There is a big discrepancy in the numbers for a couple of titles between what SAE just emailed and what TT announced on their Facebook site yesterday.
I think the SAE email has a typo by adding an extra zero to the actual total and I have corrected it in the update numbers above.

JUDGMENT AT NUREMBERG - fewer than 40 copies remaining (TT Facebook yesterday) / fewer than 200 copies remaining (SAE email tonight)
FIRST MEN IN THE MOON - fewer than 40 copies remaining (TT Facebook yesterday) / fewer than 200 copies remaining (SAE email tonight)
Thanks for the heads up. I guess I ought to order the bundle sooner rather than later. Hoped to order the bundle next month for the budgetary reason, but I guess I shouldn't wait that long.

Oil,

I've started thinking the low level alerts refer to SAE, not total copies remaining....

TT has had titles in stock after SAE runs out.

I'm not really worried about most of these, as I either have them or am not interested. A couple, High Time and The Song of Bernadette, I'm expecting in the mail today or tomorrow as part of my "7 for 70" order.

I'll be placing an order tomorrow for American Buffalo, The Mechanic, and Demetrius and the Gladiators. If Sleepless in Seattle is still available, I'll order that, too; if not, I won't be too bothered.

After that, the only LQA titles I won't have are The Blue Lagoon and the Thunderbirds twofer, neither of which I particularly want.

Good choices. Replace the last two (both of which I already have) withThe Kremlin Letter and Mindwarp, and you have my order.

I wasn't going to order the 7 for $70, but ending up ordering

Cover Girl
Pony Soldier
Rains of Ranchipur
Sound and the Fury
The Only Game in Town
Song of Bernadette
Wayward Bus

I've only seen the first 3, so the last 4 are blind buys, it's just too good a deal to pass up.

I wonder if TT will up the quantity for 3 worlds of Gulliver to 5000, it seem like it will be a popular Title.

I was thinking that myself.....along with Moby Dick (being a classic that has a pretty bad bd available it has the potential to be a quick seller). I'll get my usual two copies of any new Harryhausen bd but both are huge priorities for me to order day one. Looking forward to the isolated score from The 3 Worlds of Gulliver.

I've seen you mention Sleepless in Seattle more than once. I think you should get it. Don't want to live life with too many regrets. Save yourself one

Not trying to be argumentative, but they just put the masters the studios hand them on a disc. So does Kino. I don't really understand why that means top-tier. When Criterion, Arrow or Shout give a movie a new scan that is top-tier, IMO. Most of my TT titles look like standard MGM catalog dump transfers.

I didn't see this mentioned, but I got this email:

MGM/UA have advised us they are losing the rights to the movie version of David Mamet's fantastic play, AMERICAN BUFFALO. As a result Twilight Time's Blu-ray will be OUT OF PRINT at midnight on September 12th, 2016. As an incentive for last-minute dawdlers who do not yet have this title in their collection, the price is reduced to $14.95 at http://www.twilighttimemovies.com - now you have no excuses! Don't delay as it's gone in only 18 days!

If you have any trouble checking out or placing your order at http://www.twilighttimemovies.com, or if you have any questions simply reply to this email and we'll be happy to help.

Is somebody else picking up the rights to American Buffalo?
