Has this worked for anybody? Just printing the coupon out without the email header? Seems like its subject to Manager's approval or do they not care?

Okay, so I went to my FYE to look for a Man Of Steel Target Digibook. I found one marked $14.99. Strangely enough, it didn't ring up as $9.99 at the register. It was actually $5.99. So YMMV on the MOS DB, it may actually be cheaper!

Does anyone know if the items you trade in have to have a bar code or not? I've got a stack of old Columbia House cds that don't have barcodes on them. Will they try and look them up or will they just not bother?
Edit: I just looked at the FAQ on their site and it says they take the ones without bar codes. Good to know. I'll leave my post here so others can see this info too. |

The FYE closest to me went through a management change recently and the people that work there now are the dumbest and laziest employees I've ever interacted with. There are three registers but only one of them is ever actually manned, the manager who does the trade-ins just scans it once and if it doesn't show up, she has no interest in looking into the database and finding it. If something doesn't have a barcode she won't accept it no matter what (I have an Alien Metalpak with some damage that I've been trying to get rid of on eBay without success, so I tried taking that in today and she goes "oh this movie isn't in our system"). So after my first two items were rejected I just told to forget it and I took the four Blu-rays to another FYE near my office (bit of a hike but not bad) and they took everything, gave me $25 after the 50% extra credit, and I even found a minty mint Captain Phillips Steelbook for $10 while I was there.

Just got back from trading in a bunch of stuff. I was able to show the picture of the bonus deal just fine. I did discover that the 50 or 20 percent bonus is based off of the cash price even if you are getting store credit. Kind of a bummer but I was able to get rid of a bunch of stuff I didn't want anymore. Got a gift card for $180. Then spent about $100 of it in store and I'll use the rest for some online orders. I didn't notice until I got home, but I had so much the clerk accidentally scanner about 8 of my DVDs twice. So that was a few extra bucks.

Pickle, it was a box that I picked up at a yard sale for $25.00. Chinese action films, SyFy junk, and a few mainstream titles. I kind of regretted spending the cash but in the end I did awesome. There were a few that FYE would not take. I took them to a local store and got another 15.00 credit, so my $25.00 investment turned into $111.00 in credit. Not bad.....
