On the surface the trailer looks great, but for some reason it just came off as stale for me. I really didnt find it scary at all. I dont know why. Its like a part of me thinks I should have, but I just didnt find it scary.

Two of the best jump scares;

- Dead guy popping out the boat in Jaws

- Demon thing coming out the door in Excorcist 3

Both films that build a strong atmosphere of dread, and don't rely on jump scares, indeed, don't feature any at all up until these moments.

The new trailer isn't scary, although anything involving potential harm to children can certainly be unsettling if done right.

I just picked up the Blu-Ray for the mini-series over the weekend to rewatch it with my adult eyes. Let's just say there are a lot of people who are looking at that mini-series with some heavily fogged nostalgia goggles.

Jump scares only work if the movie has suspense and tension throughout without relying ONLY on jump scares. Movies like "Insidious" are not scary at all to me - having a sudden loud noise or something popping up unexpectedly as the only real scare tactic in a film is really just a cheap funhouse trick.

I usually despise these remakes because 99.9% of the time they are an abomination and should never have been attempted.

However, the trailer for this actually looks pretty good, and I think the kids are well cast. I'm willing to give "It" a chance.

Oh I don't even consider this a remake this being a proper film and the other being a tv miniseries im just concerned about the direction pennywise is taking
