These sound perfect for me since I live in the top floor of an apartment building and I want to be on good terms with the neighbors.

My dad has an ancient Pioneer receiver that should be able to work fine to power these.

One noob question as I am still a novice. I would need to buy a subwoofer correct? I current have just 2 polk tsi300 floorstanding speakers and the matching center channel.
