Room acoustics also include the floor - I noticed a large difference in how much of my sub's energy was going into the floor when I started using the Auralex GRAMMA riser, more traditionally used for guitar amps or bass racks.

For $50 shipped, used on my $2,000 sub, it was a tweak well worth it.
I would be interested to measure the actual difference sometime because I can tell that from about 18Hz to 60Hz I am now hearing and feeling more bass and hearing less shuddering in the house foundations.

As with any tweaks you should know your own equipment and what works best for it. There's no harm in trying things that have money back guarantees. Herbies makes good tweaks for turntables too.
