If so, yuck.
My recollection is that the same restoration were used for the Network and A&E sets.

Default Hardly a dnr catastrophy

I thought that The Prisoner looked great personally. Expectations of absolute perfection were obviously lowered by the fact that the television show is now 50 years old. Perhaps I'm wrong for feeling that way?

Here you go:

I'm running out of corners to put big boxed sets at the moment, so for me it was a big plus.

HMV Watford had Neruda in their five for £30 offer. May be a mistake as on the online store it's in the two for twenty five pounds one.

Not a mistake, looks like some recent Network titles are now in the offer. It's only £5.50 in the Network sale right now too, so even cheaper there.

Well I hope to goodness Captain Scarlet is 24/60 as filmed and not thar abomination broadcast standard. I want my shows as filmed not broadcast speeded up as some uneducared people seem to want. And the difference is very noticeable and jarring.

Whilst I'm here is someone going to put their tuppence ha'penny up about this new Prisoner box and also how it compares to the original. Kind of time of year I get a bit stretched to say the least.

It should be 24p.

Often when Network present shows at 50i it's because that was how they were shot, they aren't sped up. 24p would be a slowdown. This Is Supermarionation was an exception and a bit of a blip.

I gather it's the same transfers, without the 5.1 mix and the old extras removed with new ones added. For completeists only really, the main documentary new to this release is getting a standalone Blu-ray which is what I'm going for.

Whoops, just realised I missed the sale again. Bad timing I think - recent offers from Indicator, Eureka and BFI made me forget. Oh well, there's always next time.

On its UK general release The Belstone Fox was dragged out of the warehouse as the supporting feature. Between them the endings left a helluva lot of kids and family audiences who were expecting cuddly animal frolics coming out of the cinema traumatised.

I was made to watch that at school (being from Devon it was considered essential that we celebrated it); I can still picture the ending clearly in my mind 30 years later, it was sudden and horrible!
