My last orders came Royal Mail and I'd say the time was typical/average for them. I wasn't around so don't know exactly when stuff came, but it was less than 2 weeks for sure.

I've had 2 things shipped from Amazon UK to my Flexdelivery address and neither has arrived. One is almost 3 weeks past the estimated date and one is 2 days, which wouldn't normally concern me, but I rarely have anything this delayed. Flexdelivery has been a bust for me. I've switched my open orders back to my home address, and will just deal with duty charges should I get any. But now that Amazon charges duties upfront I guess it shouldn't happen?
So my question is, has anyone successfully received an Amazon UK package through Flexdelivery recently? Wish I hadn't switched The Thing limited edition over to it. I'm hoping it is all just delays for whatever reason, but I'll be surprised if I end up getting it. |

I just got my copy of The Wonderful Worlds of Ray Harryhausen Volume One last week (Was supposed to be delivered on October 12th). I had another Blu-ray shipped through DHL, also arrive late and almost was lost. I had to do some calling around with Canada Post, who helped tracked it down, as it was sitting in limbo on some truck, and that item also missed the delivery date as well. (Usually DHL is on the ball but this was one where something happened during the handover with Canada Post.) However, strangely I got my copy of The Thing LE, a week ago before it's estimated delivery date (was supposed to arrive by yesterday) through royal mail, so that was good at least (Except my disc was cracked, but that's another story) Still waiting on some orders from October, 2 orders from Zavvi, 1 order from Eureka and 2 parcels from powerhouse films (which are arriving through Royal Mail luckily since instinctively ordered to my flex address not my home address, and was a bit worried, after reading they were shipping via FedEx) the Zavvi and Eureka orders were all ordered in October, to my flexdelivery address and those orders should have been here by now. (Think one of the above may have arrived yesterday finally, since got an email notification about it and judging by its tracking number, its from the UK). Its all a bit strange, since it seems Amazon UK, have changed something on their end which is affecting shipping (not to mention the import fees deposit they recently added on orders), on top of perhaps Canada Customs too delaying things as well. Earlier in the year I could always count on receiving packages from Amazon UK to my flex address, way before the estimated date. In comparison, parcels from the US, were always showing up at least a month or so late. Now those roles are reversed and I am getting my US Parcels in a couple of weeks generally, and things from Europe, more times than not, are arriving beyond their estimate dates, so hopefully things may improve from here on out. (Might have been some sort of backlog or something else too during August-October that certain parties, Canada Post, Canada Customs and other agencies, are finally getting around to fixing, hopefully). It is no point using FlexDelivery anymore as now we pay an import fees deposit up front. The whole point for using FlexDelivery was to avoid UPS outrageous fees but now we don't have to pay them anymore thanks to the deposit that Amazon collects. |

That's what I suspected, which is why I've switched all my current preorder's back to my address.

You may recall that a while ago I ranted on UK amazon splitting orders so that they're less than $20 each. My contention is if they're going to do that, they should then refund the import fees deposit because none would be owed.
Even though they "charged" the deposit at time of purchase, they did not actually charge it to VISA when they split the orders. That's good...maybe the system is better than I thought... |

Flex delivery update over here as well. I did end up receiving my The Thing LE but I haven't yet recieved the universal monsters set that was supposed to arrive on the 23rd. Not as big of a deal as I can order that one somewhere else, just need to get it before Christmas.
So 1 out of 2 from flex (perhaps the other will eventually show up). But I'd still not use flexdelivery again. |

These import fees are making current deals go from Hot to Warm :\
Dark Knight Trilogy and GoT Season 7....without fees would be pretty good buys. The fees still make them a better deal than Amazon.ca though, but not the bargain it used to be. Ugh I guess I shouldnt have cancelled my order for the Harry Potter 4k set. No fees at the prior time, but now is... Guess need to have it go on a much better sale or something. |

looks like amazon uk isnt the only one forcing to pay the import fee on all shipping options now amazon.de is to. the standard option use to have no fee but now it requires u to pay the import fee.
another thing thats odd is Standard Shipping the slowest option 7-19 days cost around 9 euros. but AmazonGlobal Standard (9-12 business days) was on 3,59 euro the fast option cost less money. germany also unlike the uk dont really have any other good options to buy from there is one store called jpc.de but there prices are quite high and shipping cost start at 9 euro. |

Amazon.co.uk has The Premiere UHD 6 Film Collection (The Revenant, Kingsman: The Secret Service, Life of Pi, The Maze Runner, Independence Day, Exodus: Gods and Kings) for £28.34(including £2.77 import fees). Works out to just over $49 Canadian ~ $8.20 per movie.
