Here's the deal with association to video I found in the menu on PS3 for HDMI. I even may be missing some important ones besides these.

RGB Full Range (HDMI)
Y PB/CB PR/CR Super White (HDMI)
Cross Color Reduction Filter
BD/DVD Video Output Format (HDMI)

Please let me know what settings for these you are using on the PS3 for best 1080p resolution. I'll worry about the display settings on the Samsung afterwards for HDMI 1080p. Thanks and Happy New Year! (well almost).
