I wonder who'd be directing the movie. There are many talented directors to choose from. Colin Trevorrow can come back if he wants to. But I think they will go with someone else. The only thing that bothers me is how they changed the aspect ratio to the very commonly used (almost every film nowadays) letterbox 2.39:1 format.
Seeing as most young directors prefer that ratio, the third one will probably be in that format as well. I know it's just me bothered about that and it's silly to be bothered about something so superficial as an aspect ratio. But I can't help it somehow. Sorry to have annoyed any of you. ![]() Even more disappointing is that as per the DinosaurProtectionGroup (DPG) website, Sorna is now abandoned and possibly empty. What's worse is they decided to kill off almost all major dinosaurs featured in JP2 and JP3. I guess it's probably as a response to the hatred of fans towards JP2 and JP3. But as someone who loves all the films so far and loves Isla Sorna and JP2, JP3 (I'm sure many others do too), I find the news very, very disheartening and saddenning. It is as if only JP1 fans and Nublar matter to DPG and by extension the filmmakers in charge of the franchise. I hope it isn't true but I can't see much silver lining in this. What it means is Isla Sorna (and JP2, JP3), which is the biggest island and perfect habitat for large dino populations, is probably being written out of the franchise. At first I wasn't a fan of the JW score, even as a fan of Giacchino. But it just took some time to get used to the idea this was in search of it's own theme. And the fact I wasn't a fan of the finale, took over. But it made my Spotify list in the end.

Whether the score for JW2 will include nods to JP3 depends on the director and composer's liking or lack thereof, for the said film. Trevorrow and Derek Connolly in a 2015 interview had said they like the first two films with JP2 being Colin's favourite. They also said they did not like JP3 much. We don't know about Bayona's and Giacchino's preferences, yet.
It'd be great if they can plant a small yet recognisable reference from Don Davis's 2001 score for JP3 fans but I doubt it'll happen. In any case we'll have to wait and listen. |

I don't understand the question, unless you're implying they could just clone more anytime they want so why bother.
In The Fallen Kingdom, they're in danger of extinction because Isla Nublar is about to blow up, and conservationists don't want the animals to die off. Not sure what's complicated about it. |

Maybe they're endangered because Wu skipped town with the embryos and Ingen isn't going to make any more except for their dumb raptor drones?

I just love the rich detail in the CGI model and the tactile nature of it. Sure they got many prominent details wrong, like the shape of the jaw and snout and the lack of large killing claws on the arms (which they lazily explain away with "Hello, genetic tinkering."). CGI looks much improved overall, from Jurassic World. In fact, they are back to the level of tactile-ness achieved in Jurassic Park 3, albeit with more resolution due to the 17 years of advancement in CGI.
A 3D animator/designer by the name of Manuel Bejarano did some tinkering and got the ideal "Spinosauridae" look back - Manuel Bejarano Baryonix re-edit.jpg I personally prefer this to the obvious bipedal crocodile look.
