Ya know, one would think that 3D versions would come with a 4k copy (but that's just me).

I finally watched this last night for the first time. I thought it was good...I really enjoyed it (4/5). I thought it maybe could've used about 30 more minutes for character development (it seemed a little rushed for my taste) but I still really enjoyed it! AND...it looked PHENOMENAL in 4K!!!

AGREED!
I watched Thor the night before and this was much better all around

No

[Show spoiler]he means the guy who sets the bomb to detonate. That whole group.

It's not explained who they are, they are just terrorists. They are there to forward the story, ie have WW come in and kick ass LOL

True, but they went out of their way to have the guy stop, look up and recognize the sniper watching them.
It is kind of frustrating when you think of the stuff they cut out.
I'm guessing it is a Snyder scene but why leave it in?

Good point. I think there were a few bad edits in the movie. Maybe the Snyder cut helps?

This was a lovely UHD experience for me. The movie is a big dumb video game of a thing, and the UHD's pwetty colors and bright sparks really escalated the experience. If I had my movie curator hat on I'm sure I would have hated it for various reasons, but in my more casual mode at the moment it was just a really fun rollercoaster.

Hahaha, daaawww.

I'm still up to my ass in catching up on 4-5 years of RPG games, but I am starting to balance my time better and catch up on movies. Watched this last night and Doctor Who series 10 throughout the week. Thor tonight, hopefully.

Wasnt that explained when WW lassoed the first guy, and he spills the beans when asked "Who are you?"

I hated Thor. The audio is gimped too. I'll be watching JL again but not Thor.

I figured you were deep into some games since you fell off the wagon and mentioned Fallout. Been playing through Dark Souls III again myself.

Yup yup. Played Fallout 4 first, then Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, now playing Witcher 3. Also some Grand Theft Auto and Doom mixed in here and there. Lots and lots of hours.

Still a movie collector for sure though. Just might focus more on my main interests (sci-fi, 80's, etc.).

WB and DC just announced a New Gods movie directed by Ava DuVernay that won't be part of the DCEU. This doesn't bode well for Justice League 2 or the DCEU overall.

What a mistake. Studios should hire based on merit.

Honestly, it's like WB wants to tank DC films. Every time WB gets their grubby fingers involved they screw it up. Superman II, SS, BvS, JL...how much oversight did they give Nolan? I'd bet next to zero.

The formula is very simple: Hire a quality writer and director, give them a budget (less than they want) and watch magic happen.

Honestly, if WB came out a year ago and delayed Justice League until Summer 2018, we could have got a fleshed out version of Snyder's cut, reshoots with a mustache-less Cavill and a better received (and earning) film.

WB learned nothing from messing with BvS and wonders why the same thing happened with Justice League.

Honestly, Superman is my #1 all time favorite superhero. I also much more naturally like the DC characters but they are biffing it big time in film.

DuVernay is a great director. A Wrinkle in Time is her only stumble so far apparently (I wouldn't know as I haven't seen it yet). I have faith New Gods will be at least good if WB let her do what she wants.

Having the New Gods exist outside the DCEU doesn't bode well for the DCEU's future prospects however, since it'll be the second DC film in development not to be part of the DCEU (following the Joker origin film). I mean, we still don't have recent official confirmation that Shazam! will be part of the DCEU (as that could easily have changed). The fact WB is actively developing DC projects that aren't part of the DCEU does not bode well at all for the entire DCEU franchise, bar Wonder Woman's sequels.

It looks like Superman's resurrection is far better in The Snyder Cut than what Whedon gave us! Apparently there is a deleted scene which had Wonder Woman refuse a drink from Aquaman's flask at the cemetery whilst Clark is being dug up from his grave. This pic appears to indicate that the whole league was there originally, not just Flash and Cyborg.

I don't think she's done enough yet to call her "great." Selma and 13 are good/very good, but if she really stumbled as bad as they're saying with Wrinkle then I'm not super-confident about her hire for this. Especially since even if she does make a good movie, the suits could still screw it up.

Wrinkle in Time is on track for $100-125m domestic. That'd be, for 2017, somewhere between 25th-30th highest grossing film of the year. That's not too bad, really.

The book is very hard to adapt and reviews are more all over the place for this movie than many movies with mediocre reviews. Some people really liked it and some really didn't. Oddly (or maybe not oddly depending on your expectations) of the Top Reviewers at Rotten Tomatoes it was white men (75% of the total!!!) who liked it more than all the reviewers who weren't white men.

I didn't like it, but I'm really hard on CGI and I thought the CGI was poor.
