Band Of Brothers - Simply because it was cheap considering what it contained. I've watched the show every year since 2001 and think I will be doing so for years to come. Plus the reviews made it sound just totally awesome... AND it's in a steelcase. ^^

Harry Potter movies - I saw an auction on eBay and thought I'd jump for it. All sealed and stuff so I figured "I'll just sell the DVDs". I want to show HP to my kids because they're a huge milestone in cinema's history, same will go for The Lord Of The Rings trilogy that I've already double-dipped for on DVD.

Chronicles Of Riddick - Out of sheer fascination for the story and the character that Vin Diesel embodies. Plus they were quite cheap and the video quality really makes the difference. Especially on Pitch Black.

The Shawshank Redemption - My DVD version was horrible, it looked like a poor VHS port... and the Blu-ray was like £10 off Amazon.co.uk (even though I'm kinda gutted with the Dolby Digital sound compared to the US's TrueHD) so I thought I'd get it. I love this movie SO much and everyone should have it or at least see it.

The Goonies - No real reason, I love the movie and hadn't paid a lot for the DVD back when I got it, same for the BD, twas cheap and exclusive to the UK back then so..

and finally

Terminator 2 - I don't know how to explain my undying adoration for this movie, it's just SO good. And technically speaking, the version I bought uses the best transfer there is known of the movie and thus it was something I needed to have in my collection. I'll just watch the bonus features from the Ultimate Edition DVD I bought several years ago.

But yeah as you can tell, I didn't comment on sound as I'm not yet able to completely make the best of HD audio. When that day comes, I'm sure my double dips will be fully justified.

Sorry for my long replies, it's just something I've been having on my mind for a while and needed to get out I guess.
