I asked Scream Factory about the audio issues on "Return of the Living Dead Part II" and this was their response...

Quote:
The studio we licensed the film from had no stereo tracks for the original audio. All they had was a mono track. The original stereo tracks are gone. The only stereo source we could use was the VHS tape as we felt that the laserdisc audio was worse. We are not doing a replacement program on this. Sorry.
Just thought I'd share.

After checking my order just now I see mine was shipped yesterday so I should have it sometime this week. I'm sure yours will be shipping soon.

What's the best way to get Shout Select and Scream Factory titles discounted? Does their website have sales every so often like Criterion, Kino and Warner Archive?

There are about 10-15 titles I have been waiting to go down in price on Amazon and they never do...

Scream Factory will have a sale next month. Their sales are usually underwhelming, but they may surprise us.

I still can't figure out what the second package is unless 'Creepshow' is shipping SUPER DUPER early...

I'd be surprised if it was CREEPSHOW, since I don't think that extras have been announced yet.

That would be the first problem... Amazon isn't going to offer much in the way of sales/good pricing. Keep an eye on Deepdiscount, best buy, even Wal-Mart occasionally. That's not to say that Amazon won't price match eventually, but you will almost always find better deals elsewhere. What titles are you looking for?

The Kentucky Fried Movie was available for $6.99 2 weeks ago as part of a busted promotion glitch on the Shout Factory website. The Howling is currently available at Best Buy (in store) for $12.99 I believe (there is also a double feature release at wal-mart that removes the special features but add's The Fog for $7.88). Swamp Thing can regularly be found for $12.99 - $14.99 depending on the day. To the best of my knowledge it may have dipped to $9.99 once but that's it. Q The Winged Serpent can be found for $9.99 often and occasionally even lower. Cheech & Chong's Next movie was on sale at Best Buy from like March - July for $14.99 but has since returned to full price. Land of the Dead was $14.99 at Best Buy for months as well but has returned to the $24.99 price at the moment. I wouldn't be surprised to see a bunch of these titles drop back down to $14.99 next month though. Missing in Action was as low as $9.99 at Hamilton Books but is now gone.

If you aren't already, start to watch the shout factory deal thread in the deals sub-forum as deals pop up in their occasionally. Most of what you want is older so the odds are good that you'll find fair prices if you stay diligent in your searches.

It'll be interesting to see where it goes next. A 4K remaster from Arrow would be nice.

Arrow has it in the UK, it was the same master that SF used though. I would love a 4K remaster though, love the Phantasm series.

Not sure if this has been covered already but any word on why The Evil is currently unavailable to order through Amazon? Thanks in advance!

I'm sure the next BD will be a CE of The Horror Show aka House III with remastering plus 2 cuts of the film and same extras from the House collection which unfortunately Horror Show SE from Arrow is region B and i have the region A House 1 and 2 LE with the book in it and this can use a region A CE BD.

I bet Arrow has Phantasm II US rights and can use a restoration as the 2013 BD looks shoddy at best.

I really doubt it. Also, the Arrow release is actually region free.

It's listed region B, but is actually All Region. Play perfectly on my Region A player.
