At my bigbox Wal-Mart all copies of Solo were missing in action.

There was an entire shipper that was empty and same for video department.

Asked the guy in Video, he said that Red Box had scammed them out of all copies.

They were told they could buy 10 copies, but took all copies to the self-check area.

In all, Red Box associate bought all 121 copies of Solo, every single one.

They also apparently bought all the DVDs, I didn't see any of those around either.

Is this legal? Isn't there supposed to be a Waiting Period for rentals per the Studios?

I'm honestly surprised the employee actually had an answer for you. On the bright side, now he knows what happened and can hopefully prevent it from happening again.
