There are several quick cuts here and one shows the granddaughter already holding the knife and a fast cut to her not having it then a cut to Michael grabbing, then the granddaughter looks over and sees the knife and picks it up.

I'll have to pay close attention when I re-watch it on Monday.

Solid ****ing horror movie. Admittedly though, the best moments for me were the family moments. Everything regarding Laurie and how her daughter and granddaughter both have different feelings towards her and why... the post traumatic stress disorder that Laurie experiences and how it impacts her family... that was all great and even made me tear up a couple times. It was effective as hell.

Everything else was solid too. A couple moments that felt shoehorned in for the sake of plot development and escalation

but whatever. It was absolutely the best since the original.

I'm still very leery on this. Retconning movies JLC wasn't in to get her back for H20 was one thing, but retconning several films she was in out of existence, and with a "we know better" kind of arrogant attitude to boot.... eh. I'm already not impressed.

There isn’t an arrogant attitude. The film has several loving homages to the other sequels. And if they didn’t retcon the sequels she would be dead. Do you really think they should have kept all of those sequels as part of the story? Even without H20 and Resurrection the timeline is all over the place.

And they aren’t “retconned out of existence”. You can watch them anytime you want lol

Costumes and candy have all gone up in prices, and most people's paychecks haven't. This leads to the decline in trick or treating in some areas. It's painful to see the years go by and less and less kids are seen wandering the streets.

Really? I think they could have come up with other reasons. I think the boyfriend was written in so that we have drama to keep teens engaged inbetween the killings. That whole party scene is there for the teenage audience.

1.) Battery dies.

2.) Dead zone, no service.

3.) She flat out turns it off, so she is not distracted by the constant incoming calls.

4.) She drops it and it smashes the screen.

Just got back I’m a bit mixed it didn’t flow very well together for me the high school stuff was boring And it kinda felt a drag in the suspense scenes in the trap house + bus crash

Scenes that just were stupid like the cops in the car and some of that crap with the doctor wtf

But Micheal was awesome and Laurie was awesome

Also it seems there’s like a snobbery towards the old sequels from the makers of this movie yet this movie has done every single thing that those sequels did here

Random killing in neighborhood H2
Michael being transferred on Halloween/gas station stop - H4
Stupid cops comedy moment -H5
Micheal seems to have help from the doctor or something kind of like H6
Laurie vs Michael- H20
Micheal being burned to “death” - Ressurection

The “close the closet door” sequence was probably the best in the movie
Soundtrack was excellent
Jamie lee was also great

So what happens now micheal should basically be back to how he looked at the end of resurrection now lol

I wasn't planning on seeing this but I caved. It was better than I expected but it wasn't great either. I liked it more than p2, never loved it, but less than H20. The mask was great looking and some death scenes were cool. I didn't like some pacing, poorly done comedy, and some silly side characters.

Watch the original Halloween. It doesn't have a lot of kids trick or treating either and very little Halloween decoration. In my area the decorations have gotten outlandish but the trick or treaters are relatively few.

As silly as this always seems in films I have AT&T that has horrid signal even in big cities, like no signal at times, freaking blows especially the high prices a month.

reinforces this evil now being re awakened, and set to cast a dark shadow over the small town of Haddonfield. It is the best metaphor for Pandora's Box opening that I've ever seen in a horror film. I thought that was a brilliant piece of symbolism, and shows exactly how David Gordon Green, and Danny McBride "got" this character and the overt themes of the original film.

I was referring to any movie, not just these. When i trick-or treated, the streets were busy with kids. Not anymore. Don't see anyone.
