Could someone let me know how well The Bourne Identity looks, specifically with the alternate opening and ending? The reason I ask is because on the DVD copy, the picture is horrible for the alternate opening and ending. I just want to know if they polished it up for the Blu-ray release. Thanks.

just started watching mine and Bourne Identity froze at the part, just after the car chase, they park the mini in the undergorund parking... then scene changes to an office and the black man (forget his name) is walking down the stairs (57.20.21) i believe and it froze.... rewinded it back and it froze again

anyone else?

I didn't get the DVD for Identity so I can't give you comparison but -
The alternate beginning and endings are available as extras not branching
2 channel sound and letter boxed in a 4:3 frame
PQ seems worse than SD

Not great....

It's a little disappointing that they left the PQ so bad, but if there's no branching with the actual movie, I think I can live with that. Thanks for the info.

Well worth the purchase. Hopefully the next two are on par with the first.

perfectdark,

Please read my post above. I am having a freezing problem right before the chase scene between chapters 11-13. I suggest you e-mail Universal. I e-mailed them and they are going to send me a mailer to get a replacement disc. They ask you to include your Blu-Ray player model and firmware info, among other things. I just want a copy that works for my player: Sony S350. Anywho, hope this help man!

Default Red Bag

I couldn't resist upgrading my 3 Bourne DVD movies to the Blu-ray versions. I love these movies, particularly the last scene in Ultimatum where Nicki smiles upon hearing his body has not been found and the music kicks in.

I have only watched Identity so far on Blu. Even though I watched all three umpteen times I finally noticed something that I think is a goof in the Identity movie.

Jason stores the red bag in the train station locker. They never show him retrieving it yet he has it at the farmhouse. Maybe I need to go back and look at the deleted scenes, maybe it's in there.

Has anybody else noticed this or did I miss something?

Elliotroad - what email address did you use to contact Universal? I'm having the same issue you are (same spot) as well as a couple other spots later on in the movie. I'm using a PS3 with the most up to date firmware so I really don't understand why this is happening.

Hi Led!

It's probably best to use Universal's Contact Form. That way you know it will get to them safe (it's what I did). It took about 2 business days for them to get back to me, but they'll let give you all the info you need. You just reply to the e-mail they send with your address info and contact phone. See the URL below:

http://www.universalstudios.com/cont...hp?email_id=10

Hope this helps man! I am so disappointed by this defect in some of the players on a title like this!!!

Peace,
elliotroad

He takes it out again, in the regular portion of the movie, near the end

In that instance, we don't really need to see him retrieve it, do we?
How about this one:
Near the end of the third film, "the asset" gets creamed in that car pile-up; not dead, but pretty hammered. Isn't that the same guy on the roof a few minutes later or am I wrong? He sure did recover fast.

Default Go Blu Bourne

Anyone who is fan of these movies and have the SD DVDs or the HD DVDs should upgrade to the Blu-ray versions. The improvement over both of the older formats is more than worth the cost.

The alternate opening and ending of Bourne 1 were never intended to be put back in the movie on home video format, hence them being 4/3. It was just the DVD company hype that made them seems to be an extended version of the movie.
However, people into alternate versions might want to get the forthcoming region B disc, it will probably be, as it was on the HD-DVD, the 25s longer version which misses the on screen titles and locations, but add an extra scene in the farmhouse sequence (not the same edit as the one in the extra scenes). I call it the "European" version.

Yes it's the same guy and yes it was a quick recovery. I believe he paused trying to decided whether to shoot Bourne because Bourne didn't shoot him when he could have.
