Also, in case it needs to be said, DD, please don't switch to cheapo, thin, easily damaged mailers, over at DF, because most of us like receiving undamaged films.

My Shatner slip was perfect precisely because DF ships in a thick mailer and adds cardboard.
What are you a bubble mailerist? There is nothing wrong with the econo-mailers, but for entertainment sake the Gold bubble mailers are a minimum of $0.168 per mailer for the same size mailer.

You do realize a lot of companies use Uline mailers?

A lovely reminder of how old I'm getting. I remember when I thought a 1/4 inch bubble mailer was a cheap way to send something and avoided sellers who didn't use boxes, and their best yellow mailer is 3/16ths. How the world has changed.

Can you specify what's wrong with the transfer? I remember it being a good movie (rented the VHS when it was new), but I'm on the fence about the BD.

I'm not an expert like the rest of the people in here but for a 4k scan of the negative this movie is very soft looking. Not a lot of detail.

If the prices get lowered, then you're right, it's not an issue, which is what I've been saying (and asking about).

I don't know what he's talking about. This is one of our top selling releases that mostly receives raving reviews from customers. Now Multicom did do the transfer from the original negative, not Dark Force, but this particular one came out pretty damn awesome looking and the sound is fantastic. I could guarantee you would not be disappointed with this purchase. Ask around about it.

Well we'll have that answer in a very short time as the Dark Force Superstore is currently restocking and will be reopening very soon.

Multicom doing the transfer definitely explains a lot!

I'll order it when FORCED ENTRY a.k.a. THE LAST VICTIM becomes available. I'm always complaining that Vincent Gallo is under-represented on BD, so not owning it makes me a hypocrite.

Any news on BLACKOUT?

And they say that Ruined isn't a shill for df.

It's amazing that VS and others can do two films on a disc or multiple versions of a film on one disc and not charge more but when it comes to df, having two versions of a film on one disc means it costs more.

MONSTER ANNOUNCEMENT TOMORROW!
Everybody is asking how much the price will be for the biggest cult video release of all time SCREAMS OF A WINTER NIGHT on HD Blu-ray for the first time!!
This was a very expensive release as there are 2 versions of the movie on one BD 50 disc including a 124 minute version. So production costs on this one were very high. However...
We are taking a cue from the vastly knowledgeable and well respected forum member RUINED over at Blu-ray.com and will be releasing the first 200 copies at an EARLY BIRD SPECIAL! The price will increase incrementally with each batch the run. So the earlier you buy it the cheaper you get it and NO EXCUSES when you have to PAY MORE LATER.
MORE DETAILS tomorrow and feel free to stop by the Dark Force Entertainment thread over at Blu-ray.com and pay RUINED a thanks.

This is a terrible business strategy. You create a product and set a price. If it has to be higher to recoup costs thats fine, and you can incentivize customers with limited edition components like a slip cover. Punishing customers who can't purchase the release right away (work, sleep, etc) or don't have the money is beyond silly. For a leisure hobby, it excludes customers which is sad.

Exactly. 88 Films (and one other label) tried the same thing once before, and it backfired on them and they never attempted it again. All this is going to do is piss off potential customers.

There's goes the theory that prices will drop now that you have to pay for shipping.

He's probably walking around with a hard-on as we speak. Hey, Ruined, don't shoot your load off just yet. Wait for your complimentary copy to arrive. What if you actually have to buy this?
