Sony well soon be releasing their top of the line flagship Blu-ray player called the UBP-X1100ES. The advantage of this player over the Sony UBP-X800M2 is a detachable power cord, RS-232 port, two channel analog RCA audio output, and optical audio output. Also might have front LCD display but needs to be verified.

Everything else between the UBP-X1100ES and UBP-X800M2 is exactly the same including the picture and sound quality. The Sony UBP-X1100ES is for someone that wants more video and audio jacks on the back of the player when compared to the UBP-X800M2. There is no 1GB of internal storage for BD-LIVE, therefore a USB flash drive of at least 1GB in size needs to be used on the front of the Blu-ray player to access BD-LIVE content (no rear USB port and no USB 3.0 port). The Sony UBP-X1100ES list price is $599.99


Both the Sony UBP-X1100ES and UBP-X800M2 offer Dolby Vision HDR with DVD-Audio and SACD support.
