There is a program called bdrebuilder that can take a SBS file and convert it to a MVC frame packed bluray. Then just burn the iso and play. Its quite the process. Converting takes a good six hours usually. So he has made an iso and he is just whipping these out on ebay.

He is taking advantage of a situation which is not a big deal. So it comes down to picture quality and price and though illegal, can be looked at as a little civil disobedience instead.

I notice he is now placing these up for bid rather than offering a buy it now price. So he must be doing well.
Joe VUDU does have 3D SBS for sale of HT3. Not bluray but better than nothing.

Of course it's frame packed from the SBS source.... That would explain the low resolution. If it were the real deal, it'd look like the 2K Blu-Ray in resolution.

calling something that has a SBS source for one of the eyes "Frame Packed" might not be technically incorrect, but it's misleading as all get out.

Hotel Transylvania 3 is available in 3D on VUDU. I bought it and the quality is good... Maybe not as good as a disc but darn close.

Thanks sly.

Does one need to be a paid VUDO subscriber or can they just buy the digital copy on line?

VUDU subscriptions are free. If you have a Walmart account, you can even log in with that. The content isn't all free, but they do have a section of free movies with commercials. You can buy streaming content. You can also redeem most domestic digital copies there, and watch them from that site, free. All my players (4) have VUDU apps as does my old LG plasma.

I think both of my systems have the app too. If i buy the streaming content I gather that is stored in an account for me to store in.

Only problem is that I'm wifi wireless and afraid watching the movie can be interrupted due to the nature of wireless routers. Can one burn them onto disc?

I'm pretty sure you can't burn them to disc (legally or easily), but you can create an account and try a few of the free ones to see how they stream on wifi. Some of that will depend on your provider and the time of day you try it.

Exactly! So I don’t really understand the purpose of Arcam’s capitalised ‘end of discussion’ statement.

I chalk such things up to simple ignorance. End of discussion is absurd. I see it too much anymore (especially on things like global warming as if consensus s 100% and no scientist or human in general has ever gotten something wrong or the primary cause or some other details wrong in history) as if the person talking is God. Yeah, they thought there was an ether and then there wasn't and now the so-called Higgs Boson "field" sounds Hella similar to the basic Ether concept to me ("drag" through field causes gravity).

Coffee is bad for you, good for you, bad for you and good for you again. It causes and prevents cancer depending on the study (same for tea without milk...god the milk industry must love that coincidence). They know the average person can't study and be an expert on everything and take advantage of it (especially lawyers). So IF they wanted to lie, conspire or manipulate you, how would you know it? And who can blame people in the age of Internet false news to be suspicious?

Ah well, getting off topic, but I just try to ignore such things or correct them, but it's hard to not get drawn into argument, especially when someone who can't be wrong posts nonsense about something I do know something about.

Hi Damon,

Thanks for the feedback. Will check it out. I don't have a PC (use tablets) but my brother is excellent at doing such things.

I just won't buy bootlegs, period. Partially it's a principle thing, but I also don't like having something unofficial in amongst my collection; it feels wrong. There's also the quality issue... I typically don't even buy official BD-Rs, and I'm certainly not going to buy a bootleg one. There are bootlegs of Young Detective Dee 3-D up on eBay right now for like $11, but I happily paid close to 9x that for the legit Hong Kong release.

If a movie doesn't come out in 3-D, so be it. I can make do with the 4K version.

They also don't last. Recordable optical media degrades over time. Some of the CDR's I used for data storage back in the late 90's and early 2000's don't work any longer, the foil slowly evaporated. Luckily I caught it early on and started backing up the back up's. The plastic foil that holds the data degrades over time, you can see through them over the years before the only thing left is the plastic itself. DVDR's have the same problem, but they're newer so the problems having starting affecting many yet. I guess one can argue their TV will die before then, or that in 20 years we won't be watching discs, but it's still a problem going forward in theory.

They don't need to last. That's what a hard drive (with backups) is for.

Zidoo is so awesome.... All my 3D movies in a giant wall of videos (or KODI-derived display if using ZDMC). It's even more awesome with Atmos and DTS:X (and even a few Auro-3D ones) soundtracks remuxed with the 3D video. I actually have my choice of Atmos or Auro-3D with the 3D versions of Passengers, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Blade Runner 2049. (They'd never fit on a single BD with both immersive soundtracks in one file, but no issue with a hard drive).

Hi ckyllr,

I've had several ask me for it and have been unable to locate it since. I know it was not my imagination. I saw it - all region, no case, no artwork. And pre-order.
