Well, this sucks.

"We regret to inform you that we need to remove Isle of The Dead from our schedule as we’ve run into some production challenges that will not allow us to meet our originally planned release date. Currently, we do not have an estimated time frame in which the title might return to our schedule, so we are cancelling all pre-orders. Should it return to the schedule in the future, we will re-announce it again."

That is very unfortunate. Maybe a delay on Warner's end with the (probable) restoration?

That would be my guess. Whenever we run into delays that will last an unknown amount of time, that usually signals problems with the elements or possibly the rights to the film. In this case, I'm guessing elements as you stated.

Yeah, that's the key phrase right there. Constructive criticism. The problem is that far too many people on these boards and social media have no idea what that means. They too often go overboard in their frustration, are quick to rush to judgement, are rude and disrespectful, and lose all sense of perspective on what is important and what isn't, so that those who DO try to offer constructive criticism are either drowned out by the noise or simply lumped in with those creating it.

If I was a label and was posting here, I'd probably get irritated quickly. There are valid criticism and there is over the top criticism that is borderline rude. I'm surprised the KL insider even posts here.

Nooooo, say it ain't so!

It would figure the one I most want gets yanked. I can't imagine why there would be rights issues surrounding this one any more than other Lewton titles. I'm guessing elements too.

I'll write Scream to say I'm still on board if they ever work out the problem.

On a brighter note, the new 4K remaster of (Piranha 1978) is looking amazing.

Back then, SF didn't even want to hear constructive criticism nor were they even interested in improving. Of course, it also probably didn't help when some members were literally gushing over SF with every release and telling them not to listen to other members in an attempt to minimize (negate) valid concerns.

Untrue. A few SF reps were posting here in the early days, but rightfully left when typical message board gang up bashing happened. When you have anonymity you can post whatever you want. Sure you can delete posts but you can’t delete the affects of those posts.
I don’t blame them at all. It’s not possible to try and talk to a mob that has already passed judgement...on literally everything to include upcoming projects.

But hey, SF is humming right along and I’m happy for that. I with them continued success as they put out a lot of product I like.

Here’s one thing that’s always in short supply on message boards: compromise.

No, it was true as I watched it unfold over time. But yes, compromise would be welcomed. Do some people, on both sides, go overboard? Absolutely. That is par of the course unfortunately, but that doesn't mean that valid criticism should be ignored.

It was not. If it was only valid criticism voiced in a practical manner, I’m sure they would still be posting...at least more frequently.
Meanwhile if you talk any sort of criticism in the KL thread you risk a KLI meltdown, lol. Is this the 2nd or 3rd KLI now posting, I lost count. But I guess that gets a pass.
It was what it was, but as I said, SF is still plugging away.

Interesting that KL was pulled into this discussion, but at least they're still posting on these forums. If you consider it to be a KLI meltdown I can't imagine what could be used to describe cmac's responses. But in all fairness, KL is still plugging along as well.

I’m thankful for all insiders that take the time to post here.
The reason I mentioned KL was that the original insider left over all the grief which was a fraction of what the SF reps had to deal with.
Unfortunately I don’t think there was enough Mod involvement in the early days of this thread. They made sure to shut down insider bashing much quicker as a result, going forward.
And yep the new KL rep is plugging away.

All I know is that despite the ridiculousness of some of the complaints/comments in this thread over the years, it's never even remotely come close to the craziness that is seen on a regular basis in the Code Red/Dark Forces threads and both of those "insiders" still regularly post here... and if I'm being completely honest, make this forum that much more fun to be a part of.

So I was testing the new Piranha Steelbook for region coding confirmation to submit it to this site...
Is the forced player region a reliable indicator of it being region free?
It plays in all 3 regions according to Leawo...
