Any reason you think two different people got this wrong twice?
That's because the line sounds ambiguous when spoken out loud, since it's not clear whether the "アダムと同じ" ("just like Adam") part refers to Lilith or mankind. However, when you read the line as written, the comma between "私達人間もね" and "アダムと同じ" makes it clear that the latter refers to Lilith. It annoys me that Khara supposedly oversaw this new translation and still didn't catch this mistake.

This is one of those series that I can't stop thinking about after finishing. It's definitely growing on me big time. Can't stop watching explanation and theory videos, looking up info, wanting to read the manga and watch the Rebuild movies, etc. I'll have to retract what I said about it being overrated.

I’ve been the same way. I first saw the series on DVD around 2001 or so when I was in college. I liked it week enough then, but do to lack of availability I never watched through it again.

I burned through the whole series in two days when it dropped on Netflix and bought and watched all three rebuild movies this week. Like you I have been constantly thinking about the show and reading and watching lots of stuff out there. I’ve also been looking around at all the Eva figures out there and trying to decide on a line to pick up. And now I think I’m ready to start over and rewatch everything again.

I'm planning to before my Netflix subscription ends next month. I'm trying to track down a copy of 2.22 with the slipcover right now. It looks to be sold out nearly everywhere right now, not to mention how rare the slip seems to be.

One of my friends was a huge fan of the series and tried to get me to watch it for years but I kept passing on it. I want to say I kept avoiding watching it because there wasn't a legal option. The ADV set had been out of print for 2-3 years at this point. I've never been a fan of streaming through those bootleg sites, always preferred physical or legit streaming methods. I was probably too young to give it a chance back then anyway, I would've been about 15-16. I haven't spoken to this friend in years and I kind of wish we kept in touch because I'd love to tell him that I finally watched it lol.

I skimmed through one of the manga volumes last weekend at Barnes & Noble to check out the artwork. My local comic shop started a B2G1 sale this week and I'm gonna head there tomorrow before the movies to see if they've got the first 3 omnibus volumes for sale. If I don't go for the manga right away then I'll definitely finish picking up the Rebuild movies.

I was 15 or 16 when I first watched it, and even then it left a huge impression. I've been rewatching on Netflix today and been pleasantly surprised how well it's held up. Some of that is probably nostalgia, but going back to it all these years later, with a (arguably) more mature mind has also changed my reactions to some of it.

I tried looking for a slip for 2.22 and came up short as well. I found a good price on eBay for 1.11 with a slip and got the other two from Amazon. Glad I got them when I did as well. I paid $13 for 2.22 and it’s over $30 now. 3.33 isn’t too bad at $23, but I paid $18 a week ago.

I have it, and I don’t need to keep it.

Not only that but, unless I got a defective slip, it's hard to keep in good condition if you keep the outer flap down. Mine is totally worn on the crease, I guess the strat is to let it sit open? Luckily it doesn't really bother me anymore lol.

Didn't even know the 1.11 blu had a slip. I'll have to look now.

1.11 had two releases in the US. The first was a digibook in a slipcase, and the second was a standard BD case in a slipcover. Neither should be too tough to track down.

I wouldn't bother with the slip. The thing is that the slip for Funimation's US release used a exterior finish much like an orange peel (no color-based pun intended) that would easily flake off, especially at the edges/corners.

Seeing that it's been over 8 years since the US release of 2.22, the odds of finding a slip in NM or better condition on the secondary market is rather slim.

Only the bottom left corner (view from the spine) has some damage that must've come from shipping. I certainly treat my stuff better than that

I also have 1.11 with the slip. I have the Japanese Blu-rays and I'm not really one to keep multiple releases of things.

Is anyone a newcomer like me? I'm up to episode 20 so far and although it took me a few episodes to get into it, I'm really enjoying it. I think the Netflix dub is pretty good!

Just downloaded the mobile game too, the translation is atrocious though.

Once I've watched EOE, would anyone recommend the rebuild series? I just found out about it and from what I understand, it's a remake/retelling of the original series, just with better effects/animation?

Definitely watch the rebuild films. The first one is a pretty straight forward remake of the first six episodes of the series. However, after that they start to diverge quite a bit. Making for a fresh and enjoyable experience.

But the Slipcover re-release of 1.11 has missing Extras.
