Yup it's a smokescreen. That's what I'm saying.

Forget the entirety of physical media going from the front half of the store to 3 rows in the back corner or completely gone, minus an aisle display. They have exclusive marvel/disney steelbooks. That cancels all that out.

THE POINT, that almost no one seemed to get, was that physical media makes up such a small percentage of BB revenue that it's not a big deal for them to tell SF to go **** themselves with their demands.

YMMV. Both my BB stores have multiple media displays, literally, as you walk in the door.
So you would probably need empirical sales data to back up that blanket statement about physical media as a whole.
For SF media at BB, that writing was in the wall a few month ago when preorders were cancelled. Now there doesn’t seem to be any SF stock. So one could assume that someone nixed the deal, or didn’t renew it.

How many different articles on sales data would you need to be satisfied?

Not articles, actual sales data.
Even if you can find that, the ultimate media aisle: the website is bursting at the seems.
Media has been around for decades and it will be around for decades.

Just for giggles, do a search on steelbooks.
Then sort it by newest. Lol, tell me how that’s shrinkage.

Any business will experience peaks and valleys. BB is no different.
Just because they cut SF(I assume) from their diet doesn’t mean their media menu is in massive decline.

When I made my comments regarding Scream Factory/Best Buy however many pages back they were, I was more referring to the lack of Scream Factory titles on the website. Yes I would love a huge media section in each store as much as the next person but all retailers are cutting back in that regard so I don't completely fault Best Buy. What's far more annoying (for me at least) is the fact that the titles in question aren't even being stocked on the website leaving me with less buying options.

It'd be great to stroll into a store and grab a copy of something off a shelf, but far more troubling to me is the lack of films online. This problem isn't exclusive to Best Buy either, Target, Wal-Mart, and Best Buy are all sort of in the same position.

Sure.
And articles almost always have a slant to them, based on what point the editor is trying to get across.
Just looking at lump percentages year over year never tells the whole story.

You're right. I'm wrong. Sales of physical media are better than they've ever been!

That would be nice, but I never said that. Only that they weren’t as bleak as some here like to claim.

The fact that SF is a niche producer. The idea that they can dictate pricing to large companies like Best Buy and Walmart is ludicrous. I disagree that it has anything to do with physical media.

It is more likely BB told SF to go jump in the lake. The pre-orders were $19.99 under BB's normal pricing strategy so they were not undercutting Scream by a whole lot.

How could anyone have Scream Factory's back in this process? Let BB sell it for what they will and let Capitalism sort it out...
I think the low prices are what was hurting the market. To many genre film fans waiting years for just the right deal while these companies need cash to make more product.

Could someone please tell me why there are complaints regarding the price of Scream/Shout releases, but not Arrow releases?

BINGO! Arrow might be expensive on release day, but several times a year brand-new copies of their releases can be found for a reasonable price. Shout releases, especially Collectors Editions are hard to find new at a reasonable discount, even during their so called sales.
