We're still on this. We should have more news soon.

We just received the master for SONG OF NORWAY. It's 2.35:1 and not the roadshow version, but it sounds and looks great.

RE: Song of Norway, if you're able to also include the roadshow version, even if the additional scenes are real low quality and beat up, I think people would understand if you provided the proper context. See Criterion's release of It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World.

We releasing the 2 hrs 22 minutes complete version of the film with a historian commentary.

It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World roadshow edition included additional scenes, the Song of Norway one did not. Just the overture/intermission/exit cards which we're not including.

No reflection on KL in general (my current favorite vendor of films from yester-year), but I wish there was a way to include the extra music. Even if only against a black screen.

Still, nice to know the movie is finally coming in widescreen.

Be happy we're releasing the film. As of a few months ago, we were planning to skip this release. We paid for a brand new 2K transfer and asked Disney if they still had the Roadshow pieces and they don't.

Will be a blind-buy, but I'm interested in every Super Panavision 70 production and understand that the cinematography is quite good.

Yeah, those were all pretty good titles. Hopefully at some point, Kino might consider Japanese films again. Especially the gangster/martial arts ones from the 60's-70's.

There's a seller on ebay that's sold a ton of bootleg copies of this on DVD. He uses the artwork on the left. My suggestion to Kino is to use the artwork on the right for this reason and it also is better looking.

We're not worried about bootlegs.

We're going with the original poster and including the one on the right as a reversible. The DVD will only include the art from the left.
