I am very happy with my new TV, so much so that I have done little else but watch stuff on it!
![]() ![]() The picture quality is excellent. The jump in screen size from 60" to 85" is mesmerizing. It certainly dominates the room. I sit about 8.5" feet from the screen and it fills my field of vision nicely. So far I have watched 4K discs, blu-rays, streaming, and over the air antenna TV broadcasts and I am very pleased with the TV's performance. I have yet to try a DVD; I wonder how well that will fare on a screen of this size? The only issue that I am having is that this new TV does not recognize any video signal from my old Denon AVR 4806. I have tried different hdmi cables and every input on the TV, but nothing has worked. I called Sony support and they blame Denon. I called Denon support and they blame Sony. ![]() ![]() This AVR incompatibility issue only effects my really old devices like my laserdisc player, VCR, Nintendo Wii, and Xbox 360. I guess I will have to buy a new AVR next. My Denon 4806 is a 2006 model, so it is overdue to be upgraded; it is so old that it does not even support 3D video pass thru. ![]() Last edited by Vilya; 09-30-2019 at 04:57 PM. |

Twin Peaks is going to look and sound great on that new tv. Crank the sound up at the end of the first double episode as they switch to the Roadhouse.

It's sometimes doable over wireless to the iPad Pro 12.9" but only if the stars align, I recite the correct incantation and follow the proper rituals. ![]() Of course, at the low bitrates from Vudu, iTunes, Amazon, Netflix, etc, wired vs wireless isn't a problem at all. Unless, of course, you're like really far away from the router or there's too much interference that wireless becomes slower than internet speed from the ISP. |

I have a small Samsung TV/monitor that I use for testing. For a period of time I could not get audio from devices using HDMI. Sometime later I named the HDMI audio source and the audio started working. Nothing in the manual about this requirement! ![]() |

The TV does have one composite input and I have not tried that. My laserdisc player, DVD recorder, and VCR are connected to my AVR by S-Video cables. The Wii and Xbox 360 are connected with component video cables. I have not tried the composite out on my AVR. I will have to unearth my box of mysterious and assorted cables and look for a suitable wire. There should be several hiding in there somewhere. |

https://ultravioletcinema.com/getuv As for the 8 Million Subscribers, I guess it has to do with some Studios still holding out like Paramount, Lionsgate, and MGM. These are exciting times, and people should start to take Digital Streaming a little more seriously! |

Lionsgate offers about 20 a year, Paramount about 10-12 a year, and MGM was like Rip Van Winkle, went to sleep for several years, now puts out 2 a year. In that MA is not seeing these three studios content that could be exchanged from the many streaming providers. ![]() PS no love concerning Lionsgate VIP scanning app. You have to have patience doing a number of scans. ![]() Last edited by JohnAV; 09-30-2019 at 11:33 PM. It should work Wired only up to 100Mbps, but you do know the source Router has to be Gigabit to go beyond the 100Mbps limit.

1st CD player I bought was a Yamaha single disc player in the summer of 1984. I drove an hour to buy Pink Floyd The Wall as I wanted that to be my first disc. Still have it and it plays fine, which is saying something since it had to survive 5 years of college. The player apparently had a problem with beer being spilled on it however.
