I've learnt to arrive around 20mins after listed start time as 10mins are usually ad's, then 10-15mins trailers (I dont mind trailers)

reserved seating helps this massively

the flip side though: I've been to some sneak previews at AMC where they have almost dispensed with the trailers entirely. Folk were wandering into 'Alita: Battle Angel' fifteen minutes after the film actually began because there were NO trailers - (whoops)
