So is this "Shocktober" thing a regular sale or is Shout just purging unsold stock and disguising it as a sale? I haven't bothered to browse their site because I have most of what I need (I grab stuff when it comes out) but if they have preorders on sale I'll take a look.

Select titles, no preorders. They say the sale ends at midnight tonight, but I’m guessing it comes back sometime before Halloween, and perhaps with different titles.

Managed to snag a copy of the Carrie DF from Amazon just before it went OOP. I'm a fan of the 90's-ness of The Rage, and couldn't see how it had slipped my collection.

I took a chance on ordering Garbage Pail Kids for $22.99 from Amazon when it was backordered, thinking it would never ship. Shockingly enough, it just did.

I definitely overpaid, but with it going OOP, it was either now or never.

With that said, it is still readily available from Shout's own site (I couldn't find enough to get to $50 for free shipping), Best Buy, and Amazon, so I don't think people are exactly clamoring for it.

It could potentially end up at another label, but with something this trashy and low-tier, there's no guarantee of that - and I'd lose out on the awesome Shout cover art.

Received Dead of Winter from Walmart today.

Sadly, MovieMars cancelled/refunded my order of Carrie / The Rage: Carrie II. But they still maintain Disturbing Behavior will ship within the next few days. I very seriously doubt it.

The amount I've spent and received to catch up on the OOP titles from this wave lol... it sucks when tons of movies you've been interested in all go out at the same exact time. It is what it is and thankfully I only had to pay a really inflated price on Scarecrows and that's about it but whew.... once I confirm this last gather up I have I gotta post a list lol.

Anyway, that aside, I received my Garbage Pail Kids Movie from Best Buy today and it came with a slip! Very nice!! I also received my Amityville Horror Trilogy, Without Warning, Leviathan, I, Madman, Sleepaway Camp II, Sleepaway Camp III, The Incredible Melting Man, Ghoulies/Ghoulies II, Disturbing Behavior, Scarecrows, and soooo many more. Today alone -- between this OOP purchases and some other sales -- I received 13 packages. My back hurts!! Lol.

I know this is way off topic so I apologize. Though does any.one know if Steven Kings thinner going to get the collector edition treatment from Shout/Scream

Since olive already released it on Blu-ray should I consider that meaning to collects edition release from shout?

By the way wanted to add that No Gary Busey interview on silver bullet release stinks. The release is now a low priority.

I don't think Gary Busey can remember what he was doing last week, let alone making Silver Bullet all those years ago. Just kidding! Sorta! Seriously though, I wish they had got him. I like the guy.

After reading your experience, I was dreading getting a duplicate order cancelled (I had ordered the same items from Shout and Best Buy -- and Best Buy delivered prior to Shout even shipping and one of the items came with a slip). I used their order support contact form at 4:09 pm yesterday and they replied to my request for a cancellation and sent a refund by 4:21 pm. Albeit, I think they might have oversold at least one of the items in my order (it was listed as sold out on Shout's site and days had passed with no shipment of any items) so that might have contributed to such a quick refund/cancellation from them. It's just crazy how much their customer support can vary... I remember one time it took days to get a response back to a customer support email I sent.

Also, still waiting for Howling II to ship from my Shocktober sale order while I have received every other item in my order as of yesterday. Debating if I just want to straight up ask for a cancellation of the item or not. I won and bought a used copy of the Howling II on eBay and it arrived yesterday so it's not completely necessary. I just like having brand new copies when possible, especially when said title is going OOP eventually.

Im a little worried now but maybe this is common from Scream? No lie I usually order Scream titles from Amazon.

Nope. The order I mentioned cancelling above had Tentacles in it along with Without Warning and Garbage Pail Kids Movie and none of the order had shipped. I placed the order very early morning 10/17 with no movement or shipment and cancelled the order around 4:30 pm yesterday. Shocktober order shipped super fast and already received yesterday (and I ordered that somewhere between 10/15 to 10/17 as well), minus Howling II. I don't know if they oversold the OOP title stock they had left or what. I guess we'll see if they get shipped or cancelled.

Waited to post this until I for sure sourced my last few titles I could find because I didn't want to jinx myself. I got lucky and only really paid inflated prices for Scarecrows and Sleepaway Camp III. Otherwise, everything else was within the range of $12-$25 before tax and shipping (albeit most titles had free shipping, thankfully). Majority of what's listed has either been received or shipped. I already had Carrie (2002) / The Rage: Carrie 2 from when I bought the Pride edition of The Babadook direct from Shout a little while ago. I have New Year's Evil and Vampire's Kiss/High Spirits on order from Best Buy but I'm not super hopeful that they'll be fulfilled. The only titles I'm missing -- that I actually want -- are the two titles I listed that are on order from Best Buy along with The Sure Thing (I actually saw this in stock at Grindhouse but stupidly waited too long and missed out), The Pope Of Greenwich Village / Desperate Hours (also saw in stock elsewhere for a decent price and missed out, sigh), and Breathless. I've debated the Vincent Price Collection II a few times as well but knowing the first collection for Vincent Price is so expensive / hard to come by has made me hesitate and refrain from buying for the time being.

So yeah. Overall, I'm gonna be broke and holding back from buying a ton until Black Friday rolls around now lol. This coupled with the Shout Shocktober sale, the Kino sale, and the Criterion sale? I'm tapped for a good while.
