I've seen the disc, so I know what I'm talking about more than someone who zooms in 400% to look for tiny artifacts. The UHD looks FAR better if, you know, you actually WATCH the discs instead of picking apart caps. Try it sometime. And don't "oh please" me if you don't know what you're talking about.

I can’t pull the link. If you go to bby’s page for Unforgiven 4k, there should be a hot offer beneath the price.
Here are the eligible titles: Warner 3 for $35 4K: -Argo -Central Intelligence -The Great Gatsby -I Am Legend -In the Heart of the Sea -King Arthur -The Legend of Tarzan -The Lego Movie -Man of Steel -The Matrix -Oceans 8 -Point Break -Ready Player One -Superman: The Movie -The Town -Unforgiven |

I love the look of the uhd, but the strange tracing anomaly that occurs around the windmill, and around the wagon, and even around Gene Hackman. It looks waaay too heavy handed to be EE. I posted 2 frames.

I noticed this artifact too upon watching, it's pretty severe and really should have been caught in QC.

Eastwood with the pigs has it on the fence behind him, that's the big one that stood out to me along with the windmill when the disc came out. Not a new discovery... who knows what it is. An error maybe? Kind of like with the random DNR in Cliffhanger, some things aren't meant to be known I guess.

So a year or so ago I bought the remastered Blu Ray that came with this, mainly for the lossless audio, but now the actual 4K disc itself is at an insane price so I was thinking about grabbing it.
I've poked back through the thread but 87 pages is a lot. I have a cheaper Sony 4K TV and don't have an OLED yet, but am planning on getting the Sony A9G later this year. Can anyone tell me if the 4K disc is worth getting if you already have the remastered Blu Ray that comes with this 4K set? Last edited by Reignman35; 02-17-2020 at 04:51 AM. |

But he does have a point , with UHD’s better codec the compression is very lazy . Granted it would be hard to see in motion , but assuming the caps are correct in that shot the blu Ray looks better . Which is not what we want from UHD |
