Bill is very sensitive about people making fun of accents. He once banned me as a customer because I said he sounded like he was from Lawn Guyland. This was back in the A/V Maniacs days. Apparently he's still sensitive. BTW, I was able to get a good look at Bill sans mask during the penultimate facebook livestream. There was a brief moment where Dave was filming while walking around the apartment and he stopped at the doorway to the bedroom long enough to make Bill's face visible. He had the mask on all other times so he was caught off guard there. Must be sad to go through life hiding behind masks.

Perhaps Bill is implying it is racist towards Italians and their accent when speaking English. There have been far less obvious things people claim is racist lately, so this is not particularly perplexing to me. While one may state this is an ethnicity and not a race, the term "racist" often is used to describe discrimination for either.

Demon, I did hear Bill say last night there were music rights issues. He's also said the film owes the IRS money in the past so who knows what's true. You may be right, he just wants to spite the fans and basically say, I've got it, you want it and you can't have it.

I would say so. Though it's probably a mix of both to a degree, the strong accent that most people think of is probably most closely associated with South Boston or "Southie" - at one time primarily Irish. The North End is a heavily Italian neighborhood where I wouldn't expect to find as much of that distinctive accent.

It's just a variation of the old New England accent. I am sure it pre-dates the big influx of Irish and Italians in the 19th to early 20th centuries.
