Can anyone check the English tracks on Gamera the Brave? I just skipped through to have a quick listen after the issues with the MB Blu-ray, and I noticed some lingering problems on this disc. I want to confirm it's not just me.

Basically both tracks run slightly but noticeably ahead of the video -- I first noticed it with the councilor slamming the papers down on his desk early in the film, and also noticed a very clear example with Toru's final line at the end of the film.

There's also a weird doubling or echo effect on the instrumental backing track of the end credits song in the 5.1 mix; it's not nearly as severe as the MB disc's issues, but it sounds a little similar. I didn't check if it affected the whole music and/or effects tracks, and I'm not able to right this second, but that's probably worth checking too.

The stereo track doesn't have that odd echo, but it's also very quiet.

If it's not just my copy or my player, it's a slight damper on an otherwise stellar release. I hope Arrow looks into it and issues replacements if it's a widespread problem.

Oh hi Kyodai.

As I did on Twitter I’m seconding his report - unfortunately both English dub tracks on Gamera the Brave are badly out of sync.

Media Blasters’ stand-alone BD release of the movie had issues with audio synchronization being mismatched between channels, which the Arrow booklet specifically points out as having been corrected here.

The Media Blasters Blu-ray from 2013 had weird issues with both the stereo and surround English tracks where it was like there were two copies of the music and sound effects playing, with one properly in sync, and another playing more quietly about ten seconds ahead. Made both tracks completely unlistenable.

The issues I've noticed with Arrow's disc aren't nearly as severe but they are noticeably off.

Good thing I have no intention of listening to the English track.

Has anyone confirmed if UK version works in Region A or is Region B locked?

For adult moviephiles, this isn't much of an issue but I bought the set and the first thing I planned on doing was showing Gamera the Brave to my kids age 5 and 2). English dub is a must for kids that young.

I hope Arrow corrects the issue and issues replacement discs.

Here is the Walmart listing, but OOS now: https://www.walmart.com/ip/seort/163451267

I ordered mine on 8/18 and is arriving today via FedEx. It was available for a couple days on and off. I originally posted the link here: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...&postcount=890

It may be worth watching in case it pops back instock, but probably a long shot at this point.

Bull Moose appears to have some copies still available in their stores, I think they are located in the northeast: https://www.bullmoose.com/p/34396446...ion-blu-ray-nr

Currently shows instock at Mill Creek, Portland, and Scarborough locations.

And I will be watching the English track for nostalgia (the only reason I bought this set) as I watched the movies when I was 5.

The Japanese original audio is great for those that care. I don't, and won't watch it that way.

I had preordered the set on Amazon US cause I had giftcards to cover the cost of the set, but since it hasn't shipped yet (and probably won't) I placed an order for the set on Amazon UK while keeping the US order. I had some other items in my cart anyway, and at this point I am curious to see how long before Amazon just cancels my order.

It depends on my mood if I watch dub or sub but for the classic Showa Gamera I usually go with the dub it's nostalgia and just part of the appeal.

In the same boat. Pre-ordered in July, hasn't shipped yet, probably never will. And I was shipping to Japan so the chances of it going through are slim to none.

Not sure what to do now. And I have no idea how to get to Amazon customer service (if there is an easy way to get ahold of them).

Weirdly in the booklet they mention the MB Blu-ray had a sync problem and that it was fixed on their version. I guess they didn't iron out all the issues completely.

LOL!

Comparing the two sets is depressing. One is almost perfect, the other...not so much!
At least the packaging is near the same size

Great news! I ordered the UK version and it already shipped. I was concerned it wouldn’t work in my ‘Merican player.
