I think this is because CG movies are made completely on the computer, and since blu rays are so big (50GB), there is little to no compression when put on the disc, so they always look amazing, well that is unless the animation has an ugly style, but that's an opinion.

Wrong, dude. There is TONS of compression still. Uncompressed 1080p video would take up SOOO much space.

But yeah, when things are sourced from pure digital, they're going to look clean and nice. From there, it's just a question of the look of the style of the animation and the workmanship that went into production.
