Arrow Hanks Is Working on His Woody

Had to post this for the title alone. Hanks has been talking a bit about Toy Story 3, what he's done thus far and how Pixar pitched the sequel to him. Pretty interesting:

Quote:
Waiting around for more news on Toy Story 3? Then wait no more. Tom Hanks recently spoke to Empire about the 3-D computer-animated film, due out in 2010.

"I have been in and done three big complete recording sessions and will probably have at least one more to do, possibly in about eight months," said Hanks who, if you don’t remember, voices the toy cowboy Woody. "Then eight months after that I'll do a mop-up and have three more sessions after that. Those movies are beasts.”

As for how Hanks got sold on the film, it in no way involved reading a script.

"They showed us a complete story reel of the entire movie, with storyboards moving from one to the next, and the people up at Pixar recorded some voices with some music and sound effects,” recalls Hanks. “Tim Allen and John Ratzenberger and I went in a movie theatre, watched the reel and said, 'This is great, let's get to work!'”

Reading a contract with a nice dollar figure probably helped win them over too.
