Default Woody Allen on Blu?

I know that some very recent Woody Allen movies have made it to Blu, but I'm awaiting the catalog titles, particularly the later catalog - "Deconstructing Harry", "Everyone Says I Love You", "Mighty Aphrodite"...as well as the classics like "Annie Hall". Any idea when these could be released? I know that they would likely be bare bones, as the woodman doesn't agree with extras, but bare bones would be welcome! I've been meaning to pick these up on DVD (still need to upgrade the VHS!) but would rather wait for blu if it won't be longer than say this year....Any ideas?

At least release "Annie Hall"! The DVD is crappy non-anamorphic.

Yeah if they just put his movies on blu then they could "take our money and run"

I am a big Allen fan just not sure I need his movies on blu..

The PAL DVD is anamorphic, and upscales quite nicely. But then there's PAL speedup, so you're better waiting for BD.

I'd be especially grateful if MGM would put out good high-def transfers of:
Annie Hall
Manhattan
Stardust Memories
Broadway Danny Rose
The Purple Rose of Cairo
Hannah & Her Sisters
Radio Days

Especially Radio Days. The DVD is practically unwatchable - plagued with compression artifacts and this weird "screen door" effect (a layer of frozen grain over the image). It's one of my favourite films, but I can't stand to watch it anymore!

Radio Days is pretty bad, but at least it's anamorphic!

Another vote for Annie Hall -- this is a film classic and a must for blu-ray.

The lack of Woody Allen films on blu-ray is ridiculous. I can only think of three that have been released so far, of which only one (Vicky Cristina Barcelona) is worth picking up.

The fact that we have zero catalog titles from Woody Allen is just embarrassing. If they released 10 tomorrow, there would still be plenty "must haves" left over.

Yes, where is the love for the Woody? Come on! I bet when they come out, they will release them in boxsets.

Annie Hall
Manhattan
Love & Death
Sleeper
Crimes & Misdemeanors
Zelig
Radio Days
Hannah & Her Sisters
Deconstructing Harry
Stardust Memories

There that is ten, and I didn't even touch Purple Rose of Cairo, or Broadway Danny Rose, Bullets Over Broadway, Sweet & Lowdown, or how many others?

I would be like outside the door before the door opened if they released Manhattan and some of his other classics.

Hell,yeah!
It remains a mystery for me, why are they holding back BD releases of so MANY Woody's classics. He produce some of the best movies of 70's & 80's.

Is there any petition to sign and speed up a bit some of his releases?

What's even weirder is that they've had some HD masters of old Woody movie's on netflix streaming. They look good!

Would love to have them add Manhattan to Blu-Ray. Woody Allen and George Gershwin - fantastic combination!

I think it's more Woody holding them back than the studios.

Annie Hall should be at the head of the list. Not only is it his Best Picture winner, but it's the *only* Best Picture shot in widescreen OAR (i.e., *every* Best Picture from 1956 on) that's never even been on anamorphic DVD, much less BD, here in the States. (The U.S. DVD, now OOP, was a flipper between letterboxed widescreen and open-matte fullscreen. Some foreign markets, however, did get an anamorphic DVD.)

I sure must have odd tastes in movies because so many titles I want take forever to come to Blu. I've never bought a director box set before, but I'd be all over Woody's 70's/80's flicks.
