You can set your import setting to full wave file or Apple Lossless. No, you can't download at that high rate, but, if like me, 95% of your itunes library is downloaded from CD, you can have great quality sounding tunes. Very much capable of playing on a high quality system with good results.

But, I do agree that the general public has a different view than those who love music listening.

My wife is kind of like that, "This little radio sounds just as good as your big stereo."

I have oer 100 CD's in my i-pod, and when I dock it on my Onkyo i-pod dock through my 805........NOT EVEN CLOSE to what it really sounds like with just the CD in the player. It is a proven fact that mp3's are awful quality. sorry......

Also I should point out.......I have about 15 albums I have bought (i-tunes at the highest kbps that I could find), and they ALL sound muddy compared to the disc itself.)
