Yes, the reviews for the US version are horrible. But how do we know that this version isn't using the same scan? I did not see anything about a new transfer.

I'd guess if UK rightsholder StudioCanal haven't done of of their BFI grant remasters they're using the old Lumiere VHS master, which if memory serves was respectable enough.

EDIT - In the plot description on the product page they say it's a new master.

ah. Didn't see that! " a brand-new High Definition remaster from original film elements in its original theatrical aspect ratio."

Great news!

Network's pricing can be pretty reasonable so if a title sounds intriguing, why not go for it? Taking blind buys out of the hobby would sure dull it up, wouldn't it?
At times it feels like a game of who will blink first. It could well be that the labels observe how well a title has done for a label in another country, and if everything falls into place (the rights etc.) they go and announce their own release, after you've gone and bought the other label's release after you've been thinking it over. Assault, Behind the Mask, Bless This House, Please Turn Over, Station Six Sahara and now The Dark Eyes of London (although with The Dark Eyes of London it's already had a Blu-ray release in the States) I'm interested in getting.

There was one other Joan Collins film from the seventies which I had hoped would get a UK release, Revenge (it also starred James Booth). I don't think it's had a Blu-ray upgrade from Network.

It's true what you say about blind buys. I try to be helpful where I can with recommendations if someone needed advice. The funny thing is, despite the initial hesitation I had no problem pre-ordering Network's Blu-ray set of Gideon's Way. I can't double dip on every title I decide to get (both with film and television series). It depends on whether there are exclusive extras. With some older television series, it's not a case of being psychic, but you know some series won't get a release elsewhere, so it's easier blind-buying with some titles.

This was released on Blu Ray by Network back in 2016 however it is Out of print and I had to pay over £40 to get a copy, hope you have better luck finding a cheaper copy !

When I made my previous post, I checked the film's IMDb company credits page, and it did mention it had a Blu-ray release from Network several years ago. I checked Network's website and (agreeing with what you've said) there was only a listing for a DVD release.

Thanks for your reply. I'm wondering if Network have done a re-pressing of a Blu-ray film title which has gone out-of-print.

I knew there would be something I missed from the short list in my post before last (Who Done It? I also want to get at some point).

They’ve previously said they’re working on the hour-long DM episodes for blu ray. That was a few years ago before COVID ground everything to a halt.

Just a heads up that I posted an update about this not so long ago in the thread. Well an update might be overstating it. While I was discussing something with a Network employee, I asked about Blus for DANGER MAN and THE SAINT and he replied that no plans were in the works at the moment, but that they were on their Wishlist.

Hoping for Stingray before the end of the year to complete the trifecta.

Supercar has arrived on bluray!

5 discs, extensive extras, a 250 (!) page book about the show, a newly commissioned comic, Supercar Pilot's pin and full replica licence

That's right...I've got permission from Mike Mercury to fly Supercar. Now...does anyone know where it's parked?

That's how you do the deluxe treatment, holy crap. If space wasn't such an issue right now I'd have pre-ordered it.

My copy of SuperCar came in this morning. It's a fantastic boxset. Everything neatly fits into one great package. It looks tremendous.
