This is a pass for me this is the bare minimum of efforts instead of giving up extras especially the original cut it’s bare bones this is a pathetic release.

Looks amazing, cant wait to finally have Scream in a quality presentation. Others can whine about extras but the picture is what most of us are here for.

Go look at what shout has done for both Friday the 13th and the upcoming Halloween set you can have extras and great transfers. why should anyone have to have a compromise that’s what I was saying. Joke of it all is paramount has done better before godfather 3 director’s cut. yeah the cut still didn’t make the movie leagues better but my point is paramount is better than this period.

True.

But I’ve lived in California, and visited various times as well, and October definitely doesn’t look like that there. Northern California can get cast in November and later, but October is usually still pretty sunny. Hence why the cooler/grayish tone from the previous master looks off. And overall it just looks faded.

The new master seems to more closely match the color scheme of Scream 4 as well. And they both take place in Woodsboro.

You don’t get why it including scream 2 and 3 deserve the shout/scream factory treatment the films being on the uhd is a given for most movies but this is a series that deserves better than littlest pathetic of efforts. that’s why it’s deserves the deluxe treatment Friday the 13th and Halloween got. this is unacceptable plain and simple and paramount is better than this so to me this is them being lazy.

You know what I meant and this joke isn’t remotely funny if this was vhs I’d agree. but come on 4k blu ray isn’t vhs if they can’t be bothered to put extras on it it’s a waste of a uhd disc. they couldn’t even be bothered to find the director’s cut yet shout/scream factory had all three cuts of army of darkness in hd and included the tv cut as a bonus feature. plus even blade runner has multiple cuts and the lord of the rings and the hobbit have multiple cuts. so there’s no excuse. Are saying this film isn’t the same caliber as those films minus maybe the hobbit but scream to me is in the same league as army of darkness it deserves better end of story. Yes I know these films are from different studios but my point is still valid.

Yeah, it's finally the month for Scream's glorious return in 4K.
Let's listen to Ghostface's singing before we get our hands on the disc

This is not the first time I've read something like this on this forum. Some people even proclaim that they buy multiple versions of films they don't like, going so far as to complain when a new version comes along, because then there's another damn thing they've got to buy (usually releases of The Good Dinosaur).

What are the underlying causes for this behavior? I legitimately want to know.

Is it a shopping addiction? Obsessive-compulsive disorder? A compelling need for film preservation, even though Blu-rays are hardly archival quality? Or simply a hobby that started out as fun and then got totally out of control?

For me, it's purely masochistic.

THESE ARE NOT PARAMOUNT MOVIES!

Paramount has distribution rights, Miramax has the film rights. Miramax has the elements to do everything, Paramount does not. Miramax made the new 4K master, Paramount did not. Miramax made the new extras, Paramount did not.

All Paramount does is handle distribution.

Also, just because an alternate cut last seen over twenty years ago is not included does not indicate laziness. You always say a studio or distributor is being lazy when a release doesn’t meet your unreachable standard. So you go contact Miramax and offer to find the elements for them so a new disc can be made when Scream ‘22 is released on home video.
