This is going to sell out before it goes back to $100 so if you really want it, I'd suggest you act quickly. Just saying, you might regret it later on.

My Amazon order was basically a placeholder and it miraculously arrived mint so it worked out this time.

I order from Amazon mostly due to easy free returns. If I could trust publishers to put out better products without the scratches I see on so many discs these days, I'd probably buy more from other places. But even if something arrives intact, there's still a good chance I'll need to exchange it if the discs are scratched. with Amazon it's easy. The other side of the coin is there's a far greater chance of external damage or cracked cases buying from Amazon, increasing the likelihood of need to do a return.

I get that sadly if the prices can be sold at $100 then it should be $100. If I miss out oh well.

I hope everyone who got wrong discs is able to find someone to trade with though, probably be the best solution since I don't see stores doing anything besides a return or partial refund. Maybe Sony will do something but that could take a while.
I missed that, what are those wrong discs?

By the time I found out the item existed Amazon was the only place that still had it up for order. I would have much preferred BM, DD, or BB. I didn't even think about Target, unfortunately.

Theres reports on here and Reddit of people getting duplicate discs - for instance, 2 copies of GB but no GBII.

Just looking back, Ultimate was officially announced end of December (not sure how long before that anyone mentioned it). I can tell you for a fact up until that announcement I was expecting 1 & 2 as a stand alone 2-pack.

So, several things, again complete speculation. Karate Kid Dolby announced in September for December 7 I believe. So you had almost a month in between the announcement for Ghostbusters. Around the same time as Karate Kid getting pre-orders, Afterlife was not doing well at the box office. Sometime later, a Spider-man Trilogy 4K starts to show up with virtually ZERO information about it. Based on Karate Kid and Ghostbusters Dolby, a lot of people figured this had to be Spider-man Dolby. We later find out that it's just the HDR10 discs.

So, is this Sony starting to balk again on Dolby because they are losing money? Did Karate Kid not get the nostalgia sales that they expected? Did they get cold feet on the Ghostbusters franchise based on 2016 and Afterlife?

Again, all speculation. Also to your point about how they have released many Ghostbusters with different special features, same disc, different blu same 4K, etc. Makes me wonder again, why pay to produce the 2 Dolby discs when they could have just slapped the HDR10 discs in the Ultimate pack? Clearly it would have still sold out.
Just going to reiterate here, Afterlife did just fine at the box office/was not a disappointment. These movies exist to sell merchandise anyway and are offset by licensing deals and tie-ins, hence why we shelled out $100 for two movies we've bought multiple times over. Brand recognition aside, there is a ceiling as to how well these films will do, and Sony adjusted to that fact pre-pandemic by giving Ghost Corps a much lower budget than GB16. Had COVID not hit, this would have easily outgrossed GB16.

Does anyone know of any way to get the Canadian edition shipped to the States? When I try and order on Amazon.ca it says "Sorry, but this item can't be shipped to your selected address."

I find it just as easy to return to best buy/Target/Walmart. you can either mail it back in free of charge or take it to the store if you wish.

I just canceled my pre-order with Amazon, and the pending charge to my gift card balance was immediately refunded. I ordered back when they marked it down to $99, and I received an email yesterday giving me the option to cancel or wait for possible re-stock. I'd really like to have this set, but I'm afraid now that I might end up with someone's damaged return. Either that, or ultimately Amazon cancels it anyway. Oh well.

Well this one has certainly been a head scratcher. Ordered from BB. It was sitting at "ready to ship" for 4 days last week. It didn't actually ship until Monday saying delivery on Tuesday which I though was a stretch. Made it from KY to New Standon PA yesterday where it sat in New Stanton for 18 hours. It's finally in my town as of early this morning but not out for delivery. Had they just sent it ground last week during that four day span

Yeah Matt, and today I got refunded just over $45 CAD for preorder price protection! So in the end paid the $119! Best overall purchase from Amazon.ca yet!

Now they're walking back on DV because Spidey is just a quick cash-in re-release? Where do you get this stuff? Please say YouTube, it would explain so much.

For me, I only bought the set for the DV versions of 1/2. I don't need the art book or the special features but they are nice to haves on top of the DV discs. I owned the first 2 already so if they slapped the same discs in there, the incentive to buy the set is gone for me. I could have saved the 100 and bought Afterlife by itself.

If you really wanted the special features, the majority was on the steelbook that many people have been clearing out for a low price. So even if I bought Afterlife and the OOP steelbook, I would still be ahead.

Where is any screenshots or reviews of the new transfers you’d think they’d be up by now.
