But they are totally different topics and it's a mess to read a giant post combining responses to slews of different people about a slew of different sub-topics and a mess to respond to such posts and often impossible to like such posts since you might agree with half the stuff and not the other half, etc. Plus, it takes literally less than a second longer, if even, to skip past a few posts in a row from someone than to skip one giant post from them and it's not like some here don't post 10x as much as I do. I'd way rather have people split into sub-topic and person responding to than lump like 30 random responses into one giant post.

The "Velociraptors" of Jurassic Park are in fact Deinonychus, yes. Again, Crichton and Spielberg went with what they felt was the cooler name, and it led to decades of confusion.

I always liked the name Denonychus and heard of that name years before I ever heard of Velociraptors. I seem to recall a bit of controversy over the name they picked even back then. The latter, Velociraptor, I guess helps them also give a closer tie in to birds since many are used to hearing certain types of birds referred to as being raptors so maybe that also entered into their decision.

You're naming animals most of which are larger than Velociraptor, though. Again, not denying it could injure a person, but killing is something else. A small child or someone seriously ill and frail, though? Probably.

A pit bull is even smaller....
Anyway, I think you are still way underestimating the sort of damage that sort of power and mega claws can do. One slash could rip open guts, a major artery, etc.

I think you misunderstood. We were talking about the prologue to Jurassic World: Dominion, which takes place at the end of the Cretaceous, 65 million years ago.

I felt it's implied it all came from the one on his staff, but I suppose it's not explicitly stated. DNA only lasts 10s of thousands of years so it's all impossible anyway.

Head's up. On Vudu, if you start typing Jurassic World, one of the suggestion options pop up with Jurassic World: Dominion, something it hasn't been doing.

That means, going by other Universal releases, it's hitting digital likely next Wednesday. And like more recent titles like The Northman, Ambulance and so forth, it's likely for both purchase and rental.

If you look even further by choosing view all movies, it's up for preorder for 29.99 with a release date of July 14th.

In the books, it's clear that Ingen had spent years buying up amber deposits and mining them all over the world.

But if you want a in-movie explanation - The park was already up and running with full grown dinosaurs already when the lawyer met with the miner and they found another mosquito in some amber; showing that they were still looking for, and finding, more mosquitos long after they already had a full park.

Prime Video actually. It's supposed to be on Peacock 4 months, then Prime Video 10 months, then Peacock 4 more months (and then apparently Starz?)

Oh No, Peacock has a particular streaming share deal going on with Prime Video. While the movie will be also sold on disc and digital, it will initially make it's subscription streaming debut on Peacock for 4 months, then move over to Prime Video for 10 months, before going back to Peacock for 4 more months. They split the 18 month window.. .
