i did not have a certified tech come out, but i did it myself. my receiver has isf certification so i tweaked it around a little and it made a considerable difference. my tv is a bit older so i always thought that it was at peak performance after having dialed it in over the years, but the isf made my blacks a little darker now the screen matches the black bars on the top and bottom of the screen instead of being a gray picture with black bars. my colors have a nicer pop to the now also especially the cyan. its made skin tones much more tolerable. good luck and let us know what he did

Playing with user adjustments is not an "ISF calibration/certification". Sure, you can get a relatively good picture with AVIA or DVE, but it won't compare to a true ISF calibration where non-user-adjustable settings are tweaked for optimum grey scale, color, etc.....
