So for those of you who haven't seen it, or haven't seen it in a long time, I'd just like to recommend it to you, especially if you've recently watched Rian Johnson's Glass Onion. There is a nice, timeless quality to this modern-day neo-noir that I think is going to keep the movie from ever feeling dated. Of course, it was Johnson's directing debut and it speaks volumes about how much he adores whodunnits, and what a good feel he has for them. It also has a very good performance from Joseph Gordon-Levitt. You'd think being in his 20s he might not have been a great choice to play a high school kid, but I think he pulls it off rather nicely. There's also the great locations, with the entire movie having been filmed in Johnson's hometown of San Clemente, California (He attended high school there). |
