Default Friday the 13th (1980)

I searched and I can't believe there isn't a single thread just to talk about the original movie in the long-running slasher series!

I'll start just to say that I seen this tonight (which is Friday the 13th) at Regal for the special one night showing. There were actually two screenings. I went to the earlier one and there were about 21 people there (including myself). The next showing I took a peek at the seating chart before it started and the auditorium was nearly completely booked with about 30 people (not including any late arrivals). Both showings were in one of the theatre's smaller auditoriums.

The presentation was top notch. Nice clear image (with film grain!) and sound. The sound was really loud when it needed to be! It was listed as R rated and I presume that to be the case.

I've never seen this in the theatre before so this was a nice treat! I love early slashers like this and this one is a classic! Nice performances from the cast, especially from Betsy Palmer. I love the creepy cinematography, that amazing music score and of course the great makeup effects by Tom Savini! And that whopper of an ending that has haunted me since I first seen it in the early 80's! There was a nice round of applause at the end from the people in the theatre. Good stuff!
