The movie was released in Peru in 1980, and although I was only six years old at the time, I still remember seeing billboards for it with the iconic bleeding coin image. My father went to see it and said he ended up walking out of the movie theater. I think I've told the story before, but when I was fourteen and living in Manhattan, I tricked the clerk at the mom and pop shop down the block into renting it to me. I was only fifteen minutes into the movie, when my father unexpectedly came home and caught me. He made me return the movie. I didn't see it again until three or four years later, and that was the R-rated version I rented from Blockbuster. It would be another 3-4 years before I finally got to see the uncut version we all know.

The R-rated version was missing 50 minutes, as I recall.
