Hi.

So I got the 4k Blu Ray pack about a week ago and I planned to binge watch the whole series. When I put in the first disc there was no sound, the menu was just a blue screen with the usual options, and nothing was happening. I tried it again this morning, and the disc was back to normal. I played the first movie and at the very last 5 minutes. There were pauses and the sound blew out. I tried the second 4k film and there was the same problem as my first experience with the first film.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is it the discs? Is the packaging damaging them?

It would be great to know about the gear in your setup. Receiver? Display? 4k disc player? 18 Gbps (at least) or 48 Gbps Premium Certified HDMI cables?

Hi! Sorry for the late response.

Which would be the most significant? I don't have that problem with any of my other 4k blu rays.

I wasn't prepared for how awful the packaging was on the US release, couldn't resist the Prime price, but damn, how is this still going on. The glue that holds my sleeves together turned to goo most likely from warehouse heat and redried, several of my discs were fused into the sleeves, when I yanked them free caked on hardened glue was all over them. I had to use goo gone cleaner to get it all off, all on a brand new product, what a world we live in. Thankfully no scratches under all that mess. I whisked the UHDs away into my 25th Anniversary gatefold, which surprisingly fits virtually perfect inside the UHD slipcover even with its own slipcover on (yo dawg I heard you like slips). Now lets hope they actually play...

I can't stand the sleeve packaging they used for this release. I'm not the biggest steelbook fan either but i ended up getting the Best Buy exclusive steelbook set on release day. At least each film as it's own case.

Yeah I love those steelies Geoff D showed off, way too expensive for me. BestBuy stuff I never come across cause I don't deal with them. Well at least I got steels for the Indiana Jones films.

The packaging/cover art was the main reason I didn’t pull the trigger on getting this sooner. The cover art for the 30th anniversary Blu-ray was great.

I think the Jp set looks the best out of the AU, UK, US and JP sets. Too bad they can't just be "universal".

Is the US set still a digipack then? The UK one was but is now two Amarays in a slipcase; one Amaray for the BDs and the other for the UHDs.

Digipak and a steelbook set. I would love if they would just release all 3 films individually on 4K/Blu-ray with slips and original artwork.

Holy **** BTTF 3 looks amazing (my favorite in the series), what an upgrade, I feel sad I slept on this so long. And they actually went with the Atmos instead of DST:X which I normally avoid Uni discs over.

They're practically the same. Does your system not support the DTS:X codec?

I have a bad taste about DTS:X because Uni usually messes something up on their sound mixes and they are one of the only studios that doesn't normally use Atmos so when I see DTS:X I think Uni UHD

Does anyone think there is any chance at all of these being released separately or should I just import? I am starting to think I’m the only person in existence who absolutely loves the first film, but is not a fan at all of the sequels.

Back to the Future's 40th anniversary will occur in two more years; do you think you could stand waiting that long to see if it'll get an individual release?

If you only want the first one grab the import Zavvi Steelbook it's gorgeous, it costs twice as much as the US trilogy but it's definitely way cooler.

I'm the opposite these days I love the 3rd film the most, don't care much for the second anymore outside of the product placement and the alternate 1985 scenes and the insane plotholes ruin it for me, still like the first for Crispin Glover but think they made the parents look/act way too old in the 1985 scenes at the beginning which is hokey to me now.

Yeah, had the opportunity to grab it for $40 which I did. The more I think about it, the more I don’t ever see these getting individual releases again. Last time they did was way back on DVD.

The problem I have with Part II is that it has the most nonsensical plot device ever. Going into the future to stop something from happening makes no sense whatsoever. Just telling Marty about his kid would have been enough. It also doesn’t help the sequels that the original is a damn near perfect film.
