Regardless to whether SF have a previous scan, their 4Ks are always new scans from the year they release them.

Someone asked if Pumpkinhead UHD is from the IP or OCN...? It's always from the OCN with SF. Plus, the info on it reads thus.

I emailed shout themselves. Although I don't expect them to give me exclusive info, in the past they've usually let me know what their plans were with titles I asked about.

Damn, that really sucks that there’s basically zero substantive extras for the Irwin Allen set. I would have loved even just a single retrospective video essay on the films and/or Irwin Allen in general by someone like Kim Newman. Oh well.

It is honestly mind blowing to me that Best Buy continues to get exclusive steelbooks when they've decided to completely do away with their physical media section and replace it with... empty floor space.

Man, once upon a time, I used to weekly spend hours at Best Buy. It was simply part of my routine to check out the new stuff, and then spend serious time debating with myself about what I was actually going to buy that week.

I can count on one hand how many times I’ve been there in the last 5 years. A Best Buy by me actually turned into a seasonal Halloween store, and I’ve been there more often than I’ve been to an actual Best Buy.

So, yes, it’s a complete mystery how they still get exclusive steel books. The customers that actually want them aren’t exactly going to browse around for a dryer. Personally, I just don’t care enough about the place to go there for whatever exclusive they don’t even give a damn about.

Only reason Best Buy is still in business is because people still need a place to buy appliances like washing machines, stuff you can't (or shouldn't) usually buy online or at Walmart. There aren't many big box stores left that sell large, big ticket appliances. BB stores also have big cell phone sections but I would never consider buying a cell phone there, prefer going to dedicated shops.

On one of my first boutique purchases I ended up falling for was the Platoon release: "From A Brand-New 4K Restoration, Approved By Oliver Stone". I'd rather settle for an abused VHS copy than that abomination.
Just a little more details before I drop ~$40 on what ultimately becomes a quadruple dip

Don't think any home video work for this has ever been done from the OCN, must not be available. At best a marginal upgrade from the prior blu 4k scan release, I'm sticking with my steelbook.
