Thanks. It came with the stand. Bought it from eBay. Final price was $1700 (including shipping + stand) .

Just noticed that the seller reduced the price another $52. So it would now cost about $1653 after bing 8% rebate (damn it!) .

I'm in Phoenix, Arizona and heard an ad today advertising a store called Starpower and they apparently bought up a lot of Kuro sets and were selling them for $1,998. I imagine it would have to be the PDP-5020FD, but that's definitely a steal.

There are three Starpower locations in Texas and one in Arizona so give them a call if you live by one.

"Standard" mode on the KRP and 101/141 is the same as "Performance" mode on the 5020/6020 and 111/151.

The Pioneer 2008 Kuro's will soon be all gone from retail stores and mail order companies

Best Buy has removed the 60 inch Pioneer PDP-6020FD and 50 inch PRO-111FD from their online website. Also my local Best Buy sold out of the PDP-6020FD and PRO-111FD including the floor models. One of the Best Buy employees checked inventories for me and the PRO-111FD was out of stock in most states with only a few states having floor models still available. When the PRO-111FD was marked down a few weeks ago to $2,499.98 sale price they sold very fast. Also Best Buy has now marked up the PRO-141FD to $6,999.98 and the PRO-151FD to $6,499.98 which is 2 pennies away from the suggested list price. Some Best Buy stores in some states have less then 20 PRO-151FD's in stock. Best Buy has a few new and open box PDP-5020FD's available by mail order only with no retail sells for only $2,374.99.

There are mail order places where one can sometimes locate a $7,000 PRO-141FD for under $3,500 and a $5,500 PRO-101FD for under $2,500. Some mail order companies ship from authorized Pioneer dealers or distributors while other companies are not authorized dealers.

I spoke with a Pioneer District sales Manager I know and he informed me that Pioneer is all out of PRO-101FD's in the Pioneer warehouse. He did say that Pioneer did have a few PRO-141FD's in their warehouse but not that many left (I did not ask him about other models). Most likely most retail stores and mail order companies will be completely out of stock on all Pioneer plasma models in August or September. That is just an estimate I am making. As it stands now the only new in the box Pioneer model I can locate in my state at Best Buy is the PRO-151FD. Sure Best Buy has the PRO-141FD left but when inventories are checked they usually say that only the floor model is in stock and that they do not think they will be getting anymore in from the Pioneer warehouse.

Thats good to know. I like the standard (performance) mode for animated movies as well as for day-time viewing since its brighter. Any suggestions on a good day-time setting in the standard mode?

Thank you. It feels great to be a kuro owner. Does the isfccc controlCAL pactch come with the adjustment values that I need to put in? I'm not that good with manual calibration. I have a ton of reading to do on avsforum .

I plan on posting quite a few photos. I just have to wait for some people to come over so i have enough help to safely move it and attach it to stand. Would it matter if I do that by just lining it up and lowering it down onto the stand? I don't trust laying it down flat.

I have started to throw some pics of it in my gallery. They aren't the greatest pics but I think they get the job done.

I finally took the speakers off my 151 to make room for my speakers to move over. After looking at the tv with the speakers for over a year it looks kind of funny. I never used them before so I figured why leave them on. My wife really like the tv with them on so if I don't say anything she probably won't notice for about a week.

Default too late

I bought my elite pro-151fd back in Nov. '08 and never broke-it in. Is too late for me to break-in my plasma?
