Was waiting to hear if you're confident they're not needed anymore.

Rocky: OG mono restored. Piano is heard now after the bell when Apollo says there won't be a rematch. Now here's something interesting as well - that piano cue is now heard ALSO in the surround mix. To my knowledge, I don't think this has ever been the case, so it APPEARS at least like they took this opportunity to also add in that missing element to the discrete mix as well. Effing awesome.

Rocky II: Correct pitch restored (compared it directly to the old disc - it's definitely fixed).

Rocky III: Foreign language tracks are now the correct pitch.

Rocky IV: The single 1.78:1 shot has been fixed when Rocky is washing the car talking to his son. 1.85:1 for the whole scene now.

I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT BELIEVE they fixed these. Wow.

Everyone needs to contact whv@wbd.com and ask (politely) for replacements, because the problems have been fixed!

You'll need a photo of your receipt. I sent a screenshot of my amazon order and that worked. They did tell me that this email was for North America only, but I'm sure they can point you in the right direction for other countries as well.
Thank you to all of the beta-tes.....I mean consumers who purchased the original completely flawed set. If this is 100% confirmed fixed I'll finally buy these.

Needless to say that I just sent another email to Universal/Warner Germany - didn't have the time to yesterday anymore... If I don't get these fixed discs, my German steels will be going back.

EDIT: After giving it some thought, I eventually initated the return of the 4 German steelbooks. And I will then just buy the upcoming US set with 1-6 instead. What a joke.

Nice to see that the UK 4K steelbook for Rocky Balboa confirms a director's cut. Can't wait to see it.

I bought 1-4 in steel books from Best Buy and they contain the same errors, so I am hoping I am eligible for replacements. I followed the instructions and sent UPC codes pic as well as my Best Buy - Paypal receipt. Crossing my fingers for a quick response. I pre-ordered the Rocky Balboa steel book from GRUV today as well. I have no desire t own ROCKY V (lol!). So, if this works out, I'll have steel books of all the ones I want!

There is no UK equivalent AFAIK. I tried emailing that same address to get the Mad Max replacements and, in so many words, they told me to **** off as I'm in the UK so it's not their problem. Wouidn't be shocked if they did the same thing here, or claimed that there are no fixed discs at all like they did with 2001 ASO for me back in the day. Worth a try tho!

I want the full set of movies anyway so I'll just sell the 1-4 set as-is on fleabay, where most buyers couldn't give a shit about the audio issues.

But what are the odds that V and Balboa will have problems, for which we'll have to wait for the complete Rocky/Creed 9 movie set to get corrected versions of those?

I used the same address, and it was a very friendly reply that told me they can help, but will ship only to the US and Canada, even though I told them that's not where I am.
I replied and asked what to do in Europe and beyond and got no reply.

I tried Warn Bros. UK Twitter, no reply.

I may be selling mine on eby too, but was waiting to see the packaging and if there's any exclusives for the complete set. I generally prefer individual releases.

The irony being that I do know/expect exactly this "support" if one doesn't buy the US release, which is I why I buy US releases and which is why I only bought the German releases AFTER Universal announced the replacement program for Germany. I guess Universal did expect Warner to act like Universal.

Anyway, my German steels will be going back now and problem hopefully solved soon.

Yep, I sent the same follow-up question re: UK support last time and got nada in reply. I also tried the UK WB Shop (out of desperation rather than hope) but again, got no reply. It would seem that there's literally no kind of customer contact for WHV UK at all. I even tried the old Technicolor email addresses I had from when they did the replacements for the Harry Potter Wizard's collection, no replies. ****s the lot of 'em.

I wonder whether it'd be worth aksing Universal for any contact info? Warners are the ones who distribute their stuff in the UK. Or do MGM UK have any contact details out there? I'm not gonna bovver myself, but for others it'd be worth a look.

I also prefer individuals, but in this case here, I never liked the steels anyway (only bought those because I "had to" thinking it'd ensure receiving the promised fixed discs...) and I also don't want to sell faulty products to someone else. So just getting my money back now works best for me. If the new set is 6 steels with identical ones for the first 4 so be it. I just want to get rid of the faulty ones now and I want to without having to bother with ebay/people.

In the UK they were released individually in standard cases. That's what I got.
No sign of that for the next 2 yet, but I was hoping they would match.

Even if I'm going to sell these on, I'd rather do it with the new discs to boast about it in the listing.
Or more preferably, I keep what I got with the discs replaced and only have to buy the next 2, hopefully in standard cases also.

Another irony being that I initally had the indivual UK releases pre-ordered, because I preferred those as well, cancelled those when the reports re. the errors came in and then ordered the German steels (no other option there) only after the promised replacements...

Since I don't see myself getting my hands on the fixed discs anymore, would still need V and VI anyway, I eventually pulled the plug now. Universal also offered to return the faulty steels until end of 2024, so that's what I'll do now. I'll then just grab the 1-6 set, which will give me both the fixed discs plus V and VI. And that'll hopefully be the end of chasing proper Rocky 4Ks. What a hassle for movies I've never even seen.

Great news! I never bought the first set because I knew they would eventually release a box set with all 6 movies in it. Now I will be able to get the fixed discs in the new box set.

I haven't even opened mine, but I did get the email telling me how to get my replacements. Can't believe it's been over a year. I'm slack.

I held off because I knew they would pull this crap! Glad they fixed it and are releasing the ACTUAL complete collection.
