I had a complete ball-ache with B&N trying to order over the weekend. Despite have a B&N account for 15+ years when I tried to order it was immediately cancelled. Whatever method I used, either Paypal or Debit card, the order would not go through despite phoning them three times, speaking to the verification team who placed the order manually over the phone with them, every order the system cancelled.

To get around it, I deleted all my cookies & internet history, used a different browser to the one the orders failed on.
Using a VPN set to the USA, I created a brand new B&N account with the Stackry address & set up the Stackry address on a second PayPal account for payment.

Even then at checkout B&N didn't like the mobile number I'd entered but after doing the suggested edit, the order went through & just placed a second order.

A bit of a faff but the above may help.
