Here's a little more info on the unofficial conversion scene.
https://www.avsforum.com/threads/a-n...28063/#replies It has come a very long way and currently you can use tools to convert some of these to 3D with virtually studio-like quality. The version of this movie that is floating out there is some dude JFC who is pretty good at these conversions, but recent efforts have gotten even better. I have personally seen this 3D "conversion" and would rank it as more enjoyable than the 4K variant as it does have good depth and minor to virtually zero errors or warping. It's one of the best non studio conversions I have ever seen. Animated tend to be a little easier to do than live action movies, but all the same these are not "auto converted" but also not done frame by frame, but they are poeple using specific software to do them. As mentioned I feel the legality is on par with backing up your own blurays if you are modifying these yourself and not distributing them as pirated content. As such I won't mention on here where to find this or anything like that, but just to comment on the quality it's actually really good. I think DMCA is still a gray area as it is extremely outdated and one could use examples of encryption circumvention such as Android rooting to change your own device settings for instance that could be applied to invalidate DMCA as illegal when not used for distribution purposes, but I don't want to derail this thread so that's the only commentary I will mention. |
