The new "Gaucho" that just came out early Sept. '24 is the new Bernie Grundman re-master from Analogue Productions. It is stereo only. It's the 5th of 7 Dan SACDs re-mastered by Grundman.

I'm pretty sure we should be getting "Katy Lied" Grundman SACD before the end of '24, with "The Royal Scam" coming out early '25.

I consider that Hootie album one of the greatest one-off albums in my collection - no interest in exploring their catalog but they captured lightning in a bottle with Cracked Rear View.

I just got The Doors Waiting For The Sun, Soft Parade, Morrison Hotel and L.A. Woman SACDs in the mail five minutes ago. Plus five Miles Davis SACDs.

I'm sure it's gonna sound great, the high-res version on Qobuz is killer.

They only offer the first and second albums (the second one is still TBA).

It's okay but not worth chasing down for big bucks. The surround mix has great EQ and dynamics but the original CD wasn't a loudness wars victim to begin with due to the year of release. Not sure you'll have much use for it with the new SACD coming out, the RKS mastering (via the 2LP 45rpm) is ridiculously good and no doubt so too will the SACD be. I will definitely add it.

The biggest problem with the surround mix is the vocals are mixed in all channels, that never works for surround as far as I'm concerned. Hopefully one day the album might be revisited for an Atmos mix by someone like Clearmountain.

I am actually going to get the Mariah Carrey Christmas album on SACD. I don't like most pop music or modern country but I do like some of those artist Christmas music.

Ahh yes, I seem to recall this being a criticism of this disc and probably the reason why I didn't pick it up.
