That was your first mistake. Watching and believing anything those tools have to say.
I imagine a version of the script is done, but they re-work things as they go along. Good way to work? Maybe not. But I don't think it's as unfinished as the internet is making it sound. |

Seriously, how can anyone seriously believe the Marvel leadership doesn’t know where things are going? They have had retreats to map out the next 10 years of the MCU. They’ve a pretty good idea where things are going and how each individual project fits into the big picture. Obviously they can’t talk about that in more detail they already do. And sure, sometimes it’s possible or necessary to change some things, either to make the story better or due to unforeseen events, like Chadwick unexpectedly passing away, or the Jonathan Majors situation. Overall, I think they know pretty darn well what they’re doing. Fine-tuning a script while already in production is done for a lot of movies, not just big-budget ones. |

And yes, I'm not saying that it's only 50% done or anything, but I can't imagine a world where cast members drop in or out of the project, and you have to think about how to rewrite the thing. If it's as easy as "Just give someone else their lines," then the importance of said former character was nil to begin with, and that's just not that exciting for me. When I watch Infinity War, some superfluous characters for me would be Wong, Rhodes, Drax, Okoye, and Bucky. That's not to say you can't have them though because they all complement the ensembles they're a part of, but if they had to leave for some reason you find an excuse that they are off-world or not involved, and you move forward. But if you remove even someone on the bubble like Pepper from the movie, you're fundamentally altering an arc that questions Tony's need to keep his boots on the ground, or return home whatsoever. You drop Gwyneth Paltrow, and you're rewriting hard aspects of the movie for Robert Downey Jr., not just the one scene that she's in. Imagine if this had to be done for like Stephen or Wanda instead. My point is that writing with foundational pieces that are uncertain whether they'll be used must be very daunting, and even harder if someone ultimately can't commit and everything has to be restructured. I wish good luck to them for making it as coherent as can possibly be when I see it next year. |

None of that matters. They aren't even using the prequel cast to begin with. But when it comes to multiverse crap, you can pretty much do whatever you want and say "oh its a variant" as an excuse.

Disney hates physical media and hates horror movies. They want their Fox acquired horror films to stay on old formats and they refuse to release some of their old beloved films on 4k. Dick Tracy, The Rocketeer, Deep Rising, etc. They literally despise physical media, and its sad. Because I am a fan of physical media and horror films, and alot of Disney products too.
