What is up with movies like kate and Leopold, The Illusionist and others like them?

These have been released in other countries, when are we getting them???

And in some countries, single versions of trilogies like Bourne and Matrix have been released but here in the US we only have the box set option (well, Matrix has part 1 available in a book, but I prefer discs in a BD case). What gives???
